6 / 10 - Moonlighter
Jun 18, 2018

At first, Moonlighter is a fascinating and beautiful game. But after a few hours, it's its lack of depth and the fact that its gameplay loop never really feels fully enjoyable that we retain.

8 / 10 - MotoGP 18
Jun 8, 2018

Yes, MotoGP 2018 is only an update with some editing of its previous edition. But the job is well done on the important points that matters ; driving sensations, adjustable realism at all levels, and comprehensive content regarding the real MotoGP and its virtual transposition. This is as much at the level of the circuits as of the machines and the pilots. We can regret the lack of competition that has probably confined a bit to Milestone laziness. There is still a lot of room for improvements. But if you like the MotoGP, you will not be disappointed by this game that does the job correctly.

7 / 10 - Vampyr
Jun 5, 2018

Vampyr is a good surprise, with a delightful poetic and gothic atmosphere, a clever story and a satisfying system of choices. Sadly, its combat system is crippled by its locking mechanics especially, and most of the fights are not wall balanced. Despite this, Vampyr is a really good action-RPG.

7 / 10 - Onrush
Jun 5, 2018

Onrush is a fast, fun and entrertaining game. By scraping a little it's surface, we discover that it is more subtle than it seems and therefore has more depth than one might think. The range of action is wide enough for everyone to find his account. But there are some bugs that are hard to forgive, even if they are not very serious. Let's hope that future patches will both correct them and evolve the game so that we can continue to ride for a long time.

4 / 10 - Agony
Jun 2, 2018

Bellow its subversive appearance, Agony is just a mediocre title. It fails to capture the very essence of a successful survival horror game : an experience that combine a terrifying setting and interesting gameplay mechanics.

Beyond its colorful and cartoonesque visuals, Yoku's Island Express delivers a strong Metroidvania experience mixed with flipper mecanics. This generous and smart adventure keeps a balanced challenge from start to finish, and mixes typical flipper challenges with deep exploration gameplay. Despite a binary system of flippers and few bosses, Yoku's Island Express is a good ride with a fresh tone.

Sega Genesis Classics is without a doubt the best hommage the old 16-bit Sega console could receive. With 50 games, which features solid gold trilogies, only the retrogaming haters may miss this very best-of, lacking the expired licence-based titles. The new interface offers countless options to prevent us from frustration, and the four saves slots for each game could take you back to the past for more than a few hours.

Claiming Top Spin's heritage probably put too much pressure on Breakpoint to begin with, even more so considering the studio's obvious resource limitations comparatively. Despite some wise compromises and interesting gameplay concepts, Tennis World Tour fails to develop, or even emulate its model's formula, due to an overall lack of expertise. A thorough imitation nevertheless, yet not sufficiently polished, deep, and authentic to fulfill realistic eSports ambitions.

Classicvanias and retro action games fans can give a chance to Bloodstained : Curse of the Moon on blind faith. This game is a beautiful, really enjoyable - even if it can considered a bit short - and vibrant tribute to Castlevania III : Dracula's Curse with some great action and platofrming, beautiful 8-Bit graphics and musics, in a new setting that we hope will fulfill ita potential with Ritual of the Night.

Dark Souls Remastered is the best version for Dark Souls on consoles, and it's still one of the best Action-RPG of all time. The 60fps framerate is a real pleasure, as the other technical improvements too. We would have prefered a real remake, but it's still a very good way to (re)discover the series.

Atelier Lydie & Suelle': The Alchemist and the Myterious Paintings looks like an efficient and long RPG with some good mechanics but will clearly fail to impress or surprise you (except if we talk about its expensive DLC), as its lacks novelty. If you're a true fan, you'll get what you want. If you're not familiar with the series, you could give it a try with this Switch version.

State of Decay 2 is an interesting "post zombie apocalypse life simulator" that forces the player to manage every aspect of a survivor's life. It's too bad that its story isn't very interesting. And what to say about those bugs : there are just so many of them... With better production values, State of Decay could have been a truly special game.

On Nintendo Switch, Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition is pretty much the same action packed and repetitive beat them all it was on Wii U four years ago, with some improvements on the technical side and all the DLC. For Zelda or Muso fans, it's still a joyful way to blow off steam. but if you own it on Wii U or 3DS,there's only one feature you'll notice, split screen on portable mode.

Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time is the video game adaptation you were not expecting and won't care about if you are not an hardcore fan of the anime. The game is a weird mix between an old-school 2D side-scrolling and a PS2 era RPG but does not stand out in any of the genre it tries to tackle. However, only once you forget about the core gameplay and simply wander around the aisle of the Academia speaking with Akko's little friends, then you can really start enjoying Chamber of Time. Not for what it is, but for what it is not : a visual novel set within the world of Little Witch Academia starring the cutest hero of all time, Akko!

6 / 10 - FOX n FORESTS
May 16, 2018

Fox n Forests delivers a religious hommage to the 16-bit era platformers, with satisfying big sprites, pixelart backgrounds, but also loose collisions and a mad respawn system. Its numerous upgrades add a nice touch to the adventure, but serves as a weak excuse to revisit the same stages over and over. This is particularly infortunate, because Fox n Forests still has nice aces up its sleeve, like specific controls and shoot'em up stages.

Pillars of Eternity 2 is a very good sequel. It doesn't takes a lot of risks (muddled combat system, not enough serendipity in quests), but is still is an awesome lesson of how build a good RPG, with a fantastic writing and a beautiful art direction.
