Atomix's Reviews

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is a pretty decent and fun roguelite, but it lacks personality and it's visual presentation is far away from what we were expecting.

I would only recommend it to people who are fans of party video games, but at once they should keep in mind that it is not even going to reach the levels of fun that a Mario one can provide us. Honestly, I would think twice before buying it, especially because a much better product will arrive in October for Switch.

Zenless Zone Zero, like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, is here to stay. It is very certain that miHoYo is already working on future updates with more content and new characters. With three different games, the Chinese studio has extended its reach to new territories, and perhaps those who are not fans of open world games or turn-based RPGs can find their new obsession in this hack and slash.

Metal Slug Attack Reloaded is a bad case of transitioning an experience from mobile to consoles and PC. The only case where this doesn't feel as bad is in Switch, where you can play in handheld mode and imagine it's a tablet, but this doesn't eliminate the tedious progression, the unnecessary gacha system, and how everything feels boringness at the end of the day.

If you are a super fan and go with the mentality that it will be a product that can be called acceptable as a video game, you may find it entertaining, although I would say that it should be consumed slowly so as not to find it boring. On the other side of the coin, if you don't know this anime and want to approach it from here, better take a look at the first season beforehand and then decide if you want to play it or not.

A pretty straight forward, but very solid remastered. Luigi's Mansion 2 HD is a great opportunity tu revisit or to play for the first time one of the best 3DS games.

Honestly, I would recommend it to players who want to get into the franchise and don't know how to do it, and although it gets difficult as you go through the levels, at least there is a help mode to guide new players. As for veterans of the saga, they will enjoy it just as they did with the Gamecube classics.

The way this map is built plays very well with its limitations, creating a layered world that takes exploration to a new level for the series. Traveling through this open world is extremely satisfying and gives us so many options that it can even be overwhelming for some people, but at the same time it gives rise to an experience that only Tears of the Kingdom had achieved in recent years. Shadow of the Erdtree is an expansion that no one should miss, and is a solid candidate for the best game of the year.

If you played the original Shin Megami Tensei V, Vengeance offers more of what made this installment special. Canon of Vengeance is an entertaining story with a series of twists that will surprise you, while those who will enter this world for the first time will be able to enjoy the definitive version of this title, with two campaigns and a lot of content. Just as it was in 2021, Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is positioned as a must-play game, and something that JRPG fans have to play no matter what, even in a year when this genre has not stopped giving us some of its best modern exponents.

Megaton Musashi W: Wired represents the return of Level-5 publishing games in the west. A great mecha and action RPG game that every fan of the studio should try.

Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is a fantastic experience and a great sequel, but it is one the finishes rapidly and without a warning.

If you have never tried the Gamecube one in your life, it is my obligation to inform you that you must purchase it no matter what from its first day of release, because you are going to enjoy every second of this endearing story. On the other hand, if you are old school like me, I can only tell you that buying it again is something that is totally worth it, that magic from two decades ago remains intact, even improved.

90 / 100 - Animal Well
May 14, 2024

The puzzles presented by Animal Well are challenging enough, but at no point do they feel impossible. The level design guides us little by little, and the way in which each challenge is solved is through experimentation. Talking about Animal Well can be a detriment to all those who wish to enter this world. My biggest recommendation is: play Animal Well. This is a magical experience that will stick in the minds of everyone who gives it a try, and I can't wait to see what the next step is for its developer.

Endless Ocean Luminous is a great return to the cult series of the Wii. Arika presents just the type of experience that that fans have been waiting for almost 15 years.

Final Fantasy XVI is a fantastic game from start to finish, which manages to combine the classic structure of the series with a combat system focused on action and customization. The Rising Tide is the perfect complement to this experience, and although this marks the end of this chapter in the history of one of my favorite video game series, I can't wait to see how Square Enix takes everything that worked here and expands these concepts in Final Fantasy XVII, or in a sequel to Clive and Joshua's adventure.

85 / 100 - Stellar Blade
Apr 24, 2024

Stellar Blade has great merit when we see it from a production point of view and as Shift Up's letter of introduction to the international market. As an exclusive to the PlayStation 5, it lets us see that the industry is willing to expand and show us the AAA proposals that other regions have for us. Despite its positive points, the title offers us a generic story and gameplay mechanics that lack depth, although the presentation and production levels are impressive.

80 / 100 - SAND LAND
Apr 24, 2024

Definitely not the perfect job was done in terms of gameplay, but at least it is a good tribute to the original work and therefore, to the author, who unfortunately was not able to see the finished project. So, if you were looking for something different and with a concept that is not just about fighting, it is very possible that you will find this game fun with the good customization options on vehicles.

The King of Fighters XIII: Global Match is a good port of a game, with which you can train to emulate the exploits of BALA, Violent Kain, Huevo, Romance, Khanibalito, Tokido, XiaoHai or MadKOF. It is a title that still has its competitive niche and, therefore, in this installment that which those players demanded at a complicated time. Although, unfortunately, no more than that. It's up to you to decide if it needs it.

Cygames is taking an extremely important step in its career as a developer, entering a complicated market in which gaining respect can be one of the most complicated tasks due to the high level of demand. Granblue Fantasy: Relink is a game that doesn't come to revolutionize the genre or change it forever, however, it does important things such as showing that in less than 20 hours, you can present a great story and a sophisticated combat system that shines thanks to its good execution and the implementation of a couple of original ideas. If on top of all this you have an audiovisual presentation that surpasses even much more important productions, it results in a brilliant video game that we believe, you should not overlook, especially if, as in our case, Japanese RPGs always tend to awaken something that other genres or forms of design simply cannot.

80 / 100 - Pepper Grinder
Apr 3, 2024

Pepper Grinder is a very fun ride. While the story is minimal to the point of being almost non-existent, the progression of each level is interesting, and makes traveling throughout the four main worlds captivating all players. The visuals are top-notch, and a great display of high-pixel art that makes it clear how talented its creator is at using colors. Along with this, the animations and the way everything shakes when you use the drill, it tells us about an attention to detail that shows the passion that Ahr Ech invested in his game.
