8 / 10.0 - Battlerite
Jun 13, 2018

I found Battlrite Royale enjoyable, and even heart pumping as you encounter players of progressively better skill while making your own way up the ranks. So, whether you're an old pro at these arena type games or are just looking for a break from your regular library of games, you might want to give this a chance. Simple, fun, and engaging, it's certainly a great diversion.

8.4 / 10.0 - Battle Chef Brigade
Jun 13, 2018

Battle Chef Brigade is a mash up of two addicting game types slathered in an Anime sauce and served up hot and spicy with several different game modes to keep players salivating for more. The hunting beat'em up portion of the game is responsive and requires timing and coordination while the cooking segment requires time management and nimble matching capabilities. While some early matches can feel repetitive, and despite the many different modes to play, the lasting appeal may be somewhat suspect, Battle Chef Brigade Deluxe has done an amazing job at making the mixture of sidescrolling action and match 3 puzzles more than palatable, but simply scrumptious.

Overall, Sinner will start you off without knowing what to do, and it will continue to push you through harder and harder challenges while still not really knowing what it's all for. The game is currently available on Discord, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One for $18.99 USD. Is it worth even that? Maybe it is for someone who wants to play a Dark Souls type game with no levels to go through. It isn't a big cost so it is a little bit more palatable than say a sixty dollar game.

7 / 10.0 - Deiland
Jun 13, 2018

As a chilled, low-stress experience that strikes the right blend of cuteness and charm, Deiland certainly delivers, even though it lacks the depth and complexity of sandbox games that appeal to an older audience. Yes, there are a few bugs, but they don't get in the way of the magical fun on offer.

Turtlepop: Journey to Freedom is a fun title that doesn't fail to charm the socks off you. It follows the adventures of Bebo, Deephi, Slimmie, Willis, and Sparky as they attempt to make their way to freedom and throws in a ton of genres along the way.

5.5 / 10.0 - R.B.I. Baseball 18
Jun 13, 2018

Sadly, RBI Baseball 18, while ahead of last year's edition, is still obviously hampered by porting the mobile version to consoles and charging 300% more. It's not worth your time or your money, unless you're really hard up for a Switch baseball game. If you have access to any other console, play something there instead. Keep an eye on RBI Baseball as a series though, as they're making strides. It's got a long way to go, but they're clearly trying to make a great game.

All in all Metalhead Software Inc. hit another one out of the park with Super Mega Baseball 2. The gameplay is fluid and fun for all ages. Tie this in with the online multiplayer feature that is offered and you will have fun for hours. You don't need to be the best-skilled game player to play this game which gives it a big positive note for any players. Super Mega Baseball 2 is now available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Steam for the low price of 29.99 USD.

8 / 10.0 - Flipping Death
Jun 13, 2018

Flipping Death is more than clever, you come away from it feeling like a mad scientist of pop up books and although the ending leaves some questions - you hope that just means you'll see Penny again in her next life.

9.8 / 10.0 - Marvel's Spider-Man
Jun 13, 2018

Insomniac has created a living, breathing Spiderverse that both fans and newcomers alike can appreciate. The fluidity of combat and world traversal makes it hands down the best Super Hero game in years, but it isn't without some pitfalls. The main story itself is generally believed to take about 20 hours to complete, but for players that focus primarily on the main story, it could take less. Side missions will keep players busy, but without additional content, dedicated players may find they have run out of content well before the DLC hits in October. Despite the low hours for story completion, Insomniac has created the must have hero game this year.

9 / 10.0 - Moonlighter
Jun 13, 2018

Moonlighter is an overall brilliant sum of its parts with the kind of things roguelike fans, action RPG fans or even lifestyle sim fans can find engaging. It's an addicting piece of grinding RPG gaming that comes highly recommended on any platform you choose.

5.5 / 10.0 - Juicy Realm
Jun 13, 2018

The whole time I was playing I felt the PC was the wrong platform for the game. While I don't see myself coming back over and over to play the game at home, it would be a fun game to have on a mobile device. My PC gaming time is spent on more substantial games, but the short levels of Juicy Realm could be played while out and about.

If you didn't like Valkyria Revolution, or any entry since Valkyria Chronicles 1 for that matter, you're going to love Valkyria Chronicles 4. If you've always missed out on this series, but want something to whet your Fire Emblem appetite and enjoy a pseudo-WWII setting, you're in for a treat. Valkyria Chronicles 4 shows that SEGA does listen to the fans and that the series has plenty of life left in it.

6.2 / 10.0 - Soulblight
Jun 13, 2018

If you like highly challenging rogue-like games with unique role-playing elements, Soulblight may be a game that scratches that masochistic itch that few games do. Its Taints system is different than any other roleplaying system that I have seen used before.

3.5 / 10.0 - Safe House
Jun 13, 2018

Safe House feels more like a beginning more than a complete game. A formula, more than a package. The artwork is great and every aspect of the game has potential that I hope a one-man team can address to truly put it in the spotlight.

8.5 / 10.0 - Onrush
Jun 13, 2018

ONRUSH is a nice break from the standard fair of racers. It offers some unique modes and fun visuals as well as a solid arcade gameplay experience. It does suffer from a pretty simple combat system and some odd design choices in regards to the cosmetic shop but honestly despite these shortcomings is still a blast to play. Overall it's a fun romp of a racer that offers some fresh, intense multiplayer gaming for you and your buddies.

Aragami: Shadow Edition is a top-notch stealthy, almost puzzle/adventure hybrid game that allows you to play through zones the way you want. You can teleport from shadow to shadow or sneak and crouch or simply stealth kill all that get in your way. The game rewards all forms of play especially if you stick to that plan all the way through the chapter.

5 / 10.0 - Unravel Two
Jun 13, 2018

Unravel Two looks to expand and improve upon the critical success of its predecessor. Charming and beautiful, Unravel Two does have some bright spots. However, those spots are few and far between thanks to some clunky platforming and dull puzzles throughout.

With so many recent games focusing on building up towns or surviving hordes of zombies, RFGR is a blast from the past that reminds us that as a kid, building things wasn't the fun part, it was smashing them to bits that made it worth the time!

9.5 / 10.0 - Battlefield V
Jun 13, 2018

Battlefield V brings a lot to the table. Between the great gameplay, superb story from singleplayer, and customization of your character, there's something for everyone. I've lost countless of hours playing the game simply because it was so fun. I came into this expecting the worse and ended up with a contender for game of the year.
