Overall Wild West Online in its current state does not offer anything worth spending at its full asking price for. The player number seems to continue to drop and while the dev team continues to patch the game, it could be too little too late. A game that should be in Beta, is instead in full release.
Ancestors Legacy is a great new take on the RTS genre. While it has it's flaws, it's a breath of fresh air to a stagnant genre of games. It's laid back approach to real time strategy games allows more access to more players without causing too much effort to learn the game. Overall it's a great time!
Quarantine Circular is, much like its predecessor a short playthrough but has multiple branches that the story can go down, so one playthrough is not enough
Happy Birthday's takes a simple idea, decorates itself with some adorable aesthetics, and somehow manages to weaves together a multitude of different genres. It is an enigmatic experience that can't be categorized, and that is its appeal. If you want something different then this is definitely for you.
Yoku's Island Express is wholly unique - a seamless blend of platformer, pinball, and puzzle game that never outstays its welcome our wears out its charming visual style. Highly recommended.
Jurassic World Evolution is a simply gorgeous and robust game. This multilayered gameplay experience takes place in a beautifully crafted world with lush terrain, changing weather patterns, and an incredible amount of control. Even the musical score awakens that sense of wonder and the gravity of what you are doing - you get to run Jurassic World! It is an outlier in the long line of movie-based video games, standing as a beacon of hope that it is possible for them to actually be good while staying true to their source material.
If you enjoy your story a bit on the darker side and making choices that matter, than give Vampyr a try.
Shape of the World is an incredibly intoxicating single player game dressed in breath taking artistry.
The negatives aren't that big of a negative for me, however, I do love role-playing games where you actually control your character and can move freely around the map. This game is one of the best tactics rpgs I have played in my life. I would recommend this game to anyone who wants to try it out whether you get it for Switch or not.
The puzzles, while not all of them were hard, they were intriguing and fun. As a person who loves mythology, I thoroughly enjoyed the maze puzzle. There are plenty of things I would have done differently but the fun of the game is to progress even when you fail. I'm looking forward to the next episode when it releases. How did yours end? There are so many great games I missed on the Wii U, since it's the only Nintendo console I didn't own. Thankfully, Nintendo seems aware that a lot of people missed these titles, and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is a shining example of classic platforming with just the right amount of frustrating challenge. It took me right back to the SNES days and Rare's iconic DKC games, and that's no small feat. Tropical Freeze is an absolute joy to play most of the time, and I'm glad that it's seeing new life on the Switch.
It doesn't look like the developers had to sacrifice anything in the game to bring it to the Switch. However, it doesn't look like they added much either. That being the case unless you absolutely must play this game on the go I'd recommend sticking to Steam, PS4, or the XBox One where you can get Battle Chasers for under $20 instead of paying $40 for this port.
Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire has taken Obsidian's formula of success and brought it to the new heights.
There are so many great indie roguelites that it's almost becoming obscene. But that doesn't change the fact that Wizard of Legend is simply great fun, with an awesome couch co-op mode, and loads of replay value. Its difficulty can spike at odd times, and some spells seem utterly useless. But beyond that, there's just a lot of fireball hurling mayhem to be had as you try to pass the trials.
Without spoiling any more of the story, Inked will take you on an adventure of grief, loss, and healing. It does, as stated in the beginning, what good art should do: provoke thought and feeling. It is gorgeous in its presentation, but flawed in some of the execution of its gameplay features and controls. Even with its flaws, Inked is a satisfyingly paced game with a descent length of around 4 - 5 hours that throws new challenges at you as you play.
Dragon's Crown was one of the best Action RPGs for the PS3, and to no one's surprise it's aged well and brought to new life here on the PS4 Pro. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for a solid side-scrolling RPG.
If a murder mystery action game sounds like a game you might like, I highly recommend playing Omensight. From beginning to end it just doesn't stop on delivering a solid experience. Although the story seems to be straightforward and simple at first it opens into an interesting tale with complicated characters helming the ship the whole way through.
The game is clunky and frustrating. It provides some fun in estimating firing ranges for your tanks, but it makes that fun really hard to get to and loads it with the burdens of no tutorial, subpar UI, and frustrating movement mechanics. Whatever you'd come to this game looking for, it's probably done better somewhere else.
Solo, is an ultimately laudable attempt that sails off course somewhat.
This game is fun for all ages and provides you with the opportunity to play as a female heroine for once in a while. She uses her hair as a weapon and transforms by belly dancing to save the world. Yes this is awesome.
