Playing Dark Souls on a handheld adds an absorbing new dimension to a familiar adventure
Playing one of the decade's most influential video games on a handheld proves a welcome novelty, as the Switch version of Dark Souls makes the most of the existing remaster.
With Dark Souls Remastered now on Nintendo Switch, you'll be able to experience one of the decade's greatest role-playing games in an interesting new way.
While bare-bones on the surface, Dark Souls Remastered is one of the best games of the last 20 years running better than it ever has. New players will find all of the mood, challenge, and tension of the original, and returning vets are given beefier online options and minor tweaks to small details. More importantly, it keeps one of the medium's best games easily accessible and readily available.
I continue to experience and find new things hidden away in Lordran's darkest corners, and the Switch version lets me do that on the bus.

"Portable Souls" should be reason enough to convince anyone of not missing this game, and the Switch version of Dark Souls Remastered is exactly that, no more, no less. Performance is great (30fps great), the visual identitiy of the original game has been restored and, in the end, is as enjoyable as any other version of the game,

A good remaster but not a perfect one due switch's poor hardware. At least the gameplay experience is still flawless, while adding a portable element to the mix, makes this version a sure hit.
