A non-linear based campaign without a defined rhythm, a progression system taken from the RPG genre that does not adapt well to the personality of the saga, and a set of skins and payment methods that are, unfortunately, a great burden that the outstanding gunplay and the new cooperative mode can hardly drag.

Intelligent Systems and Koei Tecmo have managed to find the key in getting the new installment of the franchise to face new challenges and, at the same time, leave intact the molds that were already established in the past.

We are facing a complete, long adventure, with infinite possibilities; a tribute to Dragon Quest and his legacy. It is a video game that, as a spin-off, accomplishes what has rarely been achieved: overcoming some major deliveries. And this is achieved with care, with love for the brand, and with well-implemented mechanics.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is one of those games that is fully aware of its possibilities and, therefore, knows how to make great use of the elements at its disposal. The combat system, the progression of the protagonist and the design of levels generate an experience whose positive sensations are not completely diminished by the performance of this version.

Sea of Solitude is a game that, despite some flaws in its gameplay, gets to the players' hearts. Jo-Mei Games aims for the hearts and gets it just right, offering an experience that can trully make the players suffer in a heartwarming and, sometimes, even necessary way.

The Sinking City is an amazing experience, portraying a great interpretation of the pieces of H. P. Lovecraft. Adding together L.A. Noire with Sherlock Holmes, Frogwares gives us a game that blends private investigation, shooting and narrative into a believable world that is immersive and molded by our decisions, making us feel the true protagonist of the adventure.

Super Mario Maker 2 has given birth to one of those proposals that will become as big as your community wants them to be. In short, a work whose content feeds itself for its possibilities and which is deployed as a video game that meets all that could be demanded.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled does a great job to revive an experience of pure fun in the field of driving. With a team of pilots that exceeds the figure of 20 - just like the circuits -, a sweet memory and a visual section perfectly adapted to the current times, we can safely say that Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is about everything nostalgic could have asked.

Outer Wilds is one of the greatest surprises we have received. A game that mixes exploration with a Groundhog Day-like scheme and a charismatic narrative to give, as a result, something truly unique. A hidden gem that everyone should try.

Elsweyr is another great chapter for The Elder Scrolls Online. It doesn't include anything revolutionary, but with the new Necromancer and the Elsweyr map it's more than enough to keep ESO's fans entertained for more than a dozen hours.

Castlevania Anniversary Collection offers almost a dozen awesome games in just one pack. However, these are just ports to modern platforms and, if you compare Konami's work with what other franchises like Crash bandicoot, Spyro or Resident Evil have achieved with their remakes, Castlevania just falls behind.

Void Bastards is a fun and fresh mix between classic first-person shooter and modern roguelikes. Focusing on giving the player more problems than punishments, Blue Manchu has crafted a game that is fun from the beginning to the end. Furthermore, its aesthetics and graphics are simply gorgeous. One of the greatest surprises of 2019 so far.

A brainless and crazy adventure that pulls brute force to sneak into the most fun of recent years. A success in capital letters of Bethesda, id Software and Avalanche Studios.

A Plague Tale: Innocence is a well crafted, classic adventure that offers a solid story with charismatic characters. However, it all goes wrong during the final chapters, when the game loses its head, the story becomes violent nonsense and the gameplay turns out to be highly frustrating.

Weedcraft Inc is a good management sim, but fails to deliver a message, for or against, about marijuana and its social and economical consequences. A lost chance that could have been way more than just a good game.

Descenders is a fun and challenging mix between arcade and roguelike genders with freeride as the perfect excuse. High speed, risky tricks and an infinite amount of procedural tracks are the pillars of one of the best surprises of 2019 so far.

Sadly, Days Gone ends up as a failure regarding the attempt of creating one of the best survival games in the market. Despite of the fact that it is a fun game, it has far too many errors to be considered a must-have title. The story is inconsistent, the missions tend to become repetitive and there are a lot of problems regarding stability as well as bugs that, all in all, make this one of the weakest exclusive game to be found on the PlayStation 4.

Anno 1800 is the best entry in the series to the date. A game that can be huge and complex while not overwhelming to the player. A true love letter to the genre that every fan of city-builders and strategy games should play.

We will not deny that its graphic section does a lot for Cuphead to enter us by the eye; an artistic style worthy of an Oscar for best animation production. Still, let's not stray from the important thing: yes, we're caught by its graphic style, but still with everything, Cuphead is one of the best video games ever.
