9.8 / 10.0 - Horizon Zero Dawn
Mar 11, 2017

If you have a PS4, you owe it to yourself to play this game as soon as possible (and if you don’t yet own a PS4, it’s worth buying one for).

9.7 / 10.0 - Super Mario Odyssey
Oct 31, 2017

Whether it is or it isn’t GOTY, it’s undeniably a charming platformer that ultimately deletes all of the frustrations we’ve had with Nintendo over the past couple of years, and is one of the best games of 2017.

9.7 / 10.0 - Devil May Cry 5
Mar 6, 2019

Devil May Cry 5’s self-awareness is a big part of what makes it such a great game. It doesn’t care that it’s still a linear game; it doesn’t care that it’s a hack ‘n slash in 2019; it doesn’t care that its story is mostly fan service. It embraces everything that it is – despite those elements typically being labeled as dated – and we love it more because it’s doing that.

9.6 / 10.0 - Injustice 2
May 23, 2017

While Gods Among Us was just a good game, Injustice 2 successfully brings the franchise into greatness, providing a near-perfect superhero fighting game for comic book-loving gamers.

Resident Evil 2 isn’t just a great remake, it’s one of the best horror games of the generation.

Forza Horizon 4’s positives are so overwhelmingly so that its negatives feel more like a minor scratch on the paint than a flat tire

Save for Talion, the characters and story are what make this game worth playing. If you could care less about that, than the Nemesis system is sure to win your heart.

8.7 / 10.0 - Outlast II
Apr 24, 2017

"...I had to decide if I wanted to continue on for this review or come out with a DNF and go watch some cartoons to soothe my tortured soul. Seriously, Outlast 2 has some of the scariest moments you’ll find in a video game."

8.7 / 10.0 - Destiny 2
Sep 18, 2017

Despite its few shortcomings, it's a much more well-rounded game than its predecessor. It isn't as much of a change to the naked eye, but it's many subtle, smaller changes are enough to satisfy both old fans of the franchise and bring in new players.

8.7 / 10.0 - Call of Duty: WWII
Nov 10, 2017

"likely going to be looked back upon as the game that saved the declining series."

8.6 / 10.0 - Cuphead
Sep 29, 2017

Cuphead is a brilliant little game that is unique right down to its core, with a (mostly) welcomed challenge and beautiful aesthetics.

8.6 / 10.0 - Little Nightmares
May 1, 2017

While not actually frightening, its otherworldly characters are well conceptualized, and they’re each ugly and punishing enough to make gameplay interesting.

8.5 / 10.0 - LawBreakers

LawBreakers is the brute of the genre, and we’re expecting it to mean mug its way to a bigger fan base with ease.

If you are a major fan of the Zero Escape series, this game is definitely recommended for the added voice acting alone, or just to play it all over again. However, if you already beat the games and are not looking forward to suffering through those puzzles again, it might be best to pass, as there is not much new content added.

8.5 / 10.0 - BIOMUTANT

Biomutant feels like Rocket Raccoon meets Kung Fu Panda meets WildStar’s Chua class – in all the best ways possible.

8.3 / 10.0 - Has Been Heroes
Mar 27, 2017

I'm not sure if the game would work as well for such an extended period of time if I were tethered to an Xbox One or my PC to play, but the Nintendo Switch appears to provide for the best gameplay experience.

8.1 / 10.0 - Portal Knights
May 18, 2017

If you love to gather up resources, craft things, gather more resources, and craft better things, Portal Knights is definitely for you. It’s a good mix of Minecraftian adventure and RPG. It’s delightfully whimsical, and the vibes it puts out are simply charming.
