You do get to whip your mighty calculator out when bribing an enemy or object though, and the concept is so fun that it's a shame that it doesn't stand out as a mechanic after a couple of hours.

As ridiculous as it can get at times Gal Gun 2 was a pleasant surprise through and through. From its lewd premise to its ecchi scenes Gal Gun 2 knows its target audience extremely well. But even with these aside the game is a well-crafted package, offering fun gameplay which aims and succeeds in breaking from its on-rail shooter roots.

.hack//G.U. Last Recode is worth your time, especially as you get four games for the price of one with this collection, and each title is a strong effort. It'll keep you occupied, especially during a period where there aren't many new JRPGs out. For everyone's sake though, we can just refer to this collection as Last Recode rather than .hack//G.U. The more I played The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2 the more it was apparent how meticulously crafted its predecessor was. You can still find a few things that made the original so memorable, such as the innovative combat system, charming visuals, and bonkers storyline. But these aside, the rest feels like a stripped-down version. The once detailed levels with well-placed enemies are now just procedurally generated areas, the tense yet intriguing hunger system is now little more than an afterthought. The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2 is little more than a shell of its former self which is a shame since the series showed so much potential.
