With all its technical issues aside, Princess Maker 3: Fairy Tales Come True is still a blast to play. Getting to finally hear what your daughter likes and dislikes makes for a far more natural system. The streamlined scheduling prevents things from becoming too slow, while the adorable isometric pixel art breaths a whole new life to the world. And while it doesn't bring back every cool element from its predecessors it brings enough new things to the table to make this installment feel fresh. Still, it might be wise to wait until the game is patched to fully enjoy this classic.

If this change is what can breathe life into a stagnant series once again then I'm all for it.

If you are in search for the next evolution in SRPGs you won't find it here. What you will find is a perfectly enjoyable title that, while not without its faults, manages to tick all the right boxes. It has a unique story, likable characters, decent combat and just enough depth with its class system to keep it all enjoyable.

Since the Switch's launch, Nintendo has been showering us with an excellent new game every month and ARMS is no exception. Its tactical but accessible gameplay offers something for both the players seeking a challenge and those just looking for a bit of fun with friends. The plentiful online modes and equally impressive offline multiplayer mean this is one game you will be coming back to for a very long time. Now just don't forget to bring us LEGS Nintendo.

While it's definitely atypical for the series, Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is a polished masterpiece, and an absolute joy. Not only do I hope to see other earlier Fire Emblem titles given the same loving remake treatment, but I'd love to see some of the fine-tuning carry over into the next brand new title too.

While Cladun Returns: This Is Sengoku doesn't bring much new to the table from the previous installments in the series, it still feels fresh in its own way. Finally more people will be able enjoy its addictive gameplay as it is available on both PlayStation 4 and Vita and also on Steam.

For everything it had going for it Dark Rose Valkyrie ends up being a missed opportunity. It threads on the well-beaten path of its predecessors. The few new noteworthy changes such as picking out the traitor among your ranks, engaging combat and the relatively enjoyable story do make for a small breath of fresh air, but they are let down by the somewhat lackluster execution.

Blaster Master Zero is an enjoyable albeit brief trip through memory lane. What lacks in replay value it makes up with the fact that it is just so damn enjoyable. Exploring the intricately designed underground ruins on foot and in Sophia the 3rd all while slowly acquiring additional abilities that unlock new areas makes for an addictive experience which you won't put down until you see the credits rolling. Blaster Master Zero falls among the best games in the series, and will be equally enjoyable for newcomers as well as longtime fans wanting to re-experience this childhood classic.

If you own a Nintendo Switch there is absolutely no excuse to not go and pick up Mario Kart 8 Deluxe right now. Even if you put an insane amount of time into the game when it came out on the Wii U, just the fact that you can jump into a race wherever, whenever and with whoever you want makes this a no-brainer. The smart steering and auto acceleration mean everyone will be able to enjoy. If you are still deciding whether or not the Switch is for you, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe might very well be the system seller you are looking for.

Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 doesn't really change anything fundamentally, but it brings Guilty Gear Xrd one step closer to perfection. If you still haven't bought Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator, REV 2 is a perfect way to jump into the action since it includes all the previous DLCs. If on the other hand you already have Revelator, you can purchase just the REV 2 update for only 19.99. If you are still not convinced then you can always check out the PlayStation Plus demo.

Disgaea 5 Complete offers the best of both worlds. The convenience of playing it both at the comfort of a large HDTV and bringing it on the go mean that this is one adventure you won't ever have to put down. If you already played the hell out of Disgaea 5 on the PlayStation 4 and bought the accompanying DLC missions, there isn't much new here to keep you entertained, but if you want to dip your feet for the first time in this rich and crazy series, Disgaea 5 Complete will keep you glued to the screen for a very long time.

Operation Babel: New Tokyo Legacy does very little to improve upon its predecessor. Still the game is overall an enjoyable experience if not a bit bland at times. If you are a fan of dungeon crawlers you might want to have a look, otherwise you won't be missing out on much if you skip this title.
