Hunger Dungeon is that small gem that will have you staying up way longer than you planned as you play just one more match. Its addictive nature, varied levels, strong online community, decent character roster and challenging gameplay are sure to keep you coming back for more. Sure, it might not be perfectly balanced just yet, but its future updates promise to add that final layer of polish this game deserves.

While Cladun Returns: This Is Sengoku doesn't bring much new to the table from the previous installments in the series, it still feels fresh in its own way. Finally more people will be able enjoy its addictive gameplay as it is available on both PlayStation 4 and Vita and also on Steam.

So, should you buy Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana? Absolutely and unequivocally yes. With a reduction on the fluff, an easy-to-learn combat system and a plot that (unlike many JRPGs) doesn't border on the incomprehensible, Ys VIII stands as a fantastic example as to how these games should be made and one I'll now hold as a benchmark to mark any future JRPGs against. An essential Switch purchase.

The game itself might take place on a relatively small scale, but the ambition of the game is much bigger.

Even though Tokyo Xanadu borrows heavily from the Persona series, it still has enough personality in it to be wholeheartedly entertaining. While not as deep and brooding as the evident source material, Tokyo Xanadu still managed to be a surprisingly enjoyable experience. The enormous cast of characters with rich side stories made the world feel bustling with life, while the real-time twitch battles meant combat had more staying power than if it went the typical turn-based approach. Tokyo Xanadu might not be the most innovative title out there, but it manages to blend its ideas well enough that every JRPG fan should at least give it a try.

There are some genuinely tense moments to be had here with its numerous smart ideas and a rather decent execution. Cooperating with your partner during the hectic tower defense segments make for an experience unlike any other. Aegis Defenders is available on PlayStation 4, Switch and both Windows and Mac OS X on Steam.

The 3DS may be seeing less games nowadays, but Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology shows that the system isn't running out of quality games any time soon.

If you have previously played the original, there are little changes here to warrant returning to Lordran (unless you want to of course). However, the core of the game is still one of the most intriguing, challenging, and beautifully created gaming experiences currently available; so, I wholeheartedly recommend picking it up despite its flaws

This enhanced version brings enough additions to the table to justify a purchase even if you had bought the original. Longtime fighting game fans will have a lot to look forward to, with its excellent combat and numerous modes, while newcomers will be greeted with a far more accessible experience thanks to its rich training modes and meatier story. It's definitely not for everyone with its subpar visuals for this day and age, but scratch the surface just a bit and you will find a fighting game unlike any other.
