PSX Brasil's Reviews

Daybreak 2 is an uneven Trails. The battle systems and those related to gameplay have improved considerably, but the main story ended up being its weak point. It is a title that partially meets expectations and still remains a good game, despite being a series known for having high-level games. Hopefully the next game will deliver on all the potential that the current arc has built up so far.

85 / 100 - Botany Manor
Feb 5, 2025

With a manor and its surrounding gardens, Arabella has more than a roof of her own to cultivate both fantastic plants and scientific treatises. Botany Manor uses the historical context of a Victorian female scholar to build an ingenious exploration puzzle game, delivering the satisfaction of solving riddles while illustrating a clever historical insight represented by the protagonist's overlooked intellectual life. Both narrative and gameplay are bounded together in our minds by their clues and fragments, making this game a beautiful and worthy whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.

Basureroes: Invasion has a simple pixel art and level design. However, with different character gameplay and game modes, it knows how to extract more than we realize at first glance and proves to be a competent action platformer, especially since it allows up to four people to play and also has numerous deadly arenas for versus mode matches.

In yet another great science fiction with deep humane themes, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector improves on what its excellent predecessor achieved and expands the campaign structure. This time, we travel to various locations in outer space in a ship, following Sleeper and his crew through an RPG with dynamic systems and vital choices. The cohesive sum of its parts makes this work a greater whole, one that is memorable and necessary for our times.

80 / 100 - Robobeat
Jan 29, 2025

The practical lack of a good narrative construction and the divisive visuals can be scary, but there is no doubt that ROBOBEAT is an unexpected well-balanced mix of classic FPS, rhythm and roguelike, with the fluid and addictive gameplay cycles as its greatest and most competent asset.

Embracing its strengths and main qualities, Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter is a solid sequel, with a fun and challenging combat, impeccable art style and an always interesting universe. However, the innovations do not add much to make the game a natural evolution and ends up becoming too safe bet.

70 / 100 - Cuisineer
Jan 27, 2025

Cuisineer is a charming food management game that uses a combat and dungeon exploration system to present a fun and creative proposition. However, the lack of alternatives to keep it interesting in the face of a tiring grind to reach the end of the campaign leaves the main dish of this appetizing menu a little bitter.

Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles is still as fun as it was when it was released 25 years ago, but this mediocre and bureaucratic remaster does little to address the aesthetic issues and even less for the original's limitations. While it largely ignores newcomers, it may have its appeal for a few moments for longtime fans, but it does little to reward them for their loyalty.

Despite its limitations, Freedom Wars Remastered is an excellent way to revisit one of the most fun monster hunting games released for the PS Vita.
