The shadows are alive. Be the embodiment of vengeance. Beware the light.
This game is challenging in a good way. While it can be frustrating, I find that when I did hit that checkpoint, I had this great sense of accomplishment.
Dead Synchronicity isn’t a terrible game, and it may be better suited for PC than the PS4. But it just didn’t click with me, with its sometimes obtuse puzzles, lengthy exposition and laughable voice acting.
The music and sound effects instantly take you back to a simpler time in gaming, which while it might be a little lost on a younger generation I 100% could appreciate its authenticity. There is so much to unlock as well, additional characters with unique stats, new panels (for the side of your screen to look like an old handheld), new color schemes for your screen (I prefer the pea green hue from my Gameboy just fine), and tons more. This game gives you more than enough reasons to go back again and again to try and beat your high score.
While it can be downright frustrating at times, it is very rewarding when you finally get past that difficult section.
HoPiKo is a great example of why we need to be paying closer attention to Indie Games out there.I know a lot of people can and do argue that we are being bombarded weekly with too many indie games, but HoPiKo is truly a gem!
Ginger is a platformer that has so much potential to be a good game, but unfortunately due to terrible camera angles and glitchy/repetitive gameplay, Ginger falls short of being average.
Breached has that decidedly intelligent-independent feel and ultimately doesn't disappoint.
The gameplay is fast-paced, exciting, difficult and just plain fun. Seraph is pure gameplay at its best, and is absolutely worth playing.
Gears 4 serves as a worthy reboot even if it doesn't expand on the status quo. Technically the game is sound & offers more than enough value, but it doesn't advance the story or the recipe enough to warrant admiration to say its one of the best in series.
Mario Party: Star Rush might be the best Mario Party game since Mario Party 9 on the Wii and its absolutely a big improvement over the other 3DS Mario Party: Island Tour. I think the initial $40 might be a tad high for a mini-game collection, but there’s definitely enough variety, mini-games, and modes to keep you entertained if you want to jump in.
Folks, I have been a bad PSVG team member. I’ve been procrastinating on this review for quite some time. I cannot do that any longer for it is not fair to you, the reader. Forgive me of my sins and I will tell you a tale of a game, a game for the Wii U. That game my friends is Twisted Fusion and this is how our story unfolds…
Earth’s Dawn is a surprisingly refreshing game that I fully expected to be chore.
While overall short, mild control issues, and a little bit of repetitive puzzles solving it delivers a bizarre and fun ride. This game begs to be fleshed out into something much bigger. But if you are a puzzle fan and would enjoy a short endeavor into Small Radios Big Televisions, grab your tape deck and press play.
One of the best Schmup options available on 3DS, Hyperlight EX is a fun grab for only $6 dollars but the difficulty and lean modes might turn some players off.
Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS is a great game, and possibly the best 2D Mario available on the system. The creative mentality seems to unlock the developers from holding true to past level designs, and allows creators to toy with the varied elements of a Mario level to really create something special.
It’s like Goldeneye met and fell in love with Portal, then they had a baby with a little bit of crazy Smash Bros-like unpredictability.
Pokemon Sun and/or Moon is one of the best titles you can play on 3DS. The new alterations to the Pokemon formula definitely bring it up to modern-day standards plus it has a compelling story for gamers of all ages.
Darksiders Warmastered is an incredible action/adventure game with a solid story and fantastic voice acting that will drag you in and keep you invested until the bitter end!
Dragon Ball Fusions is worth your investment. As a budget release, the game offers over 30 hours of entertainment, a unique battle system and some witty banter. There are some bugs and the over-world is very unappealing, but there's enough here to get a good laugh out of any Goku fan.
