Origins is a great game, it has a compelling story with attractive graphics and impressive environments; however this comes at a cost due to the high graphical demand of the game. Ubisoft has clearly tried to expand into new territories with Origins and it works in their favour.
Picking right up where we left off in episode 2, with more important choices to make. More Than a Feeling sets up the rest of the season for high hopes, and we cannot wait to see what's in store.
A middle school jazz performance of disparate design ideas and pacing akin to the unique brand of messy and amateur seen in a flood of steam greenlight asset flips, and if you want that you have cheaper options.
Although it doesn't take that many risks, Hollow Knight is unique enough with its Metroidvania elements and its own take on Dark Souls lore. Its gameplay is tight and fluid, its art direction is on point, and it provides more than 30h of enjoyment if you consider the multiple endings—which are more engaging than a couple of choices right after the final boss fight—as well as the free expansion packs, all of which add enough content to prolong the experience.
A fast paced, action oriented Cyberpunk thriller that kept me coming back for more. A stunning title that fans of the genre will love.
The story and banter between characters are Deadbeat Hero’s major strong points, but the annoying gating mechanics on show for slowing down progression and forcing replaying previous levels halted my enjoyment for the game, and to top it off, I didn’t really enjoy looking at the game either. An interesting story that has been let down by some poor choices on the mechanic front.
The conclusion of Batman Arkham Knight may come as a controversial one. We are going to highly recommend Arkham Knight. The game play and interesting compelling story make it a definite worthwhile play through.
Life is Strange: Before the Storm - Episode 2: Brave New World, has certainly picked up the season for me, and elevating it on par with the original season. I must now patiently wait for the next episode!
This is a fantastic Metroid-clone. It's well worth your time, it's polished, fun, has fantastic production values and a killer ost. There's very few bad things to say about it, and the only real detrimental one I'd say is that I didn't know about it beforehand.
Though a cheap buy, Riskers has fundamental flaws in AI mechanics and general gameplay that plague the short storyline. The rampaging is fun in the story and unrewarding during side missions, but the music will always keep things upbeat.
I enjoyed every minute of it. I would have like to see the price drop a little bit over the course of the past two years but you are still getting a game that is a joy to play from start to finish here.
The fans of the first game may be miffed at some design choices, but the overall design makes all nitpicks easy to overlook for an enjoyable grind.
The New Colossus may just be a surprise contender for game of the year for me. I enjoyed every second of my time with this game
The three hours I had playing AER were fun, but I won’t have any everlasting memories of this game, and neither will I probably remember what even happened a few days from now. A forgettable experience that had plenty of opportunities to be more.
I wish I played it when it first released, as Victor Vran is easily one of the best ARPG games out there to date. Maybe even better than Diablo 3.
Slightly underwhelmed, but still a classy shooter that will be made 100% better if played with friends. Future content will make or break the longevity of Destiny 2 though.
Divinity: Original Sin is an absolute masterpiece of a game. It goes to great lengths to let newer gamers experience the CRPG genre but with a modern twist on it.
To put it simply, The Witcher 3 is a piece of modern gaming’s history and is a masterpiece that every RPG fan will need to experience if they haven’t already.
While a unique and wonderful experience, the extremely short length of the game, and little replay value make it hard to recommend to everyone. But as the game has a free demo available on Steam, anyone even remotely interested should try it as soon as they have a free few minutes.
NieR: Automata is a gem every gamer should play at least once, regardless of its issues. Though struggling to reach the same status as its competitors, it remains one of 2017's most unique releases as well as a hallmark in storytelling.
