Star Wars Battlefront II is plagued by an economic system that unfortunately reached itself into the game to affect gameplay in an unfair way. Even with EA/DICE withdrawing the pay to win system, the actions tainted the game. Though not without real gameplay flaws, Battlefront II is a stunning dive into the Star Wars universe with real prop scans and authentic sounds. Battlefront II leans more towards an online arcade adventure rather than a serious competitive FPS and it truly excels in this role.

8.4 / 10.0 - Nier: Automata
Oct 24, 2017

NieR: Automata is a gem every gamer should play at least once, regardless of its issues. Though struggling to reach the same status as its competitors, it remains one of 2017's most unique releases as well as a hallmark in storytelling.

The conclusion of Batman Arkham Knight may come as a controversial one. We are going to highly recommend Arkham Knight. The game play and interesting compelling story make it a definite worthwhile play through.

8.3 / 10.0 - Dark Souls III
Oct 22, 2017

If you haven’t played Dark Souls up until now because of the difficulty, then Dark Souls 3 still isn’t going to change that. It’s the tried and tested gameplay, with a few polished up features. It is by far the best game in the series, but it is only going to appeal to a certain demographic of gamer. Those who enjoy the test of increasingly difficult combat systems, a slow and methodical approach to progression and who don’t get frustrated easily will certainly have already played Dark Souls 3 by now, but if it’s sitting in your library and you have always wondered “Am I good enough?” Then the answer is almost certainly “No, you are not you absolute scrub” but you should still boot up Dark Souls 3 for an epic experience you cannot get anywhere else.

8.3 / 10.0 - 88 Heroes
Mar 26, 2017

88 Heroes hits where a lot of games miss. It introduces and original idea with a unquie spin and provides hours and hours of chaotic fun. For my money, it’s hard to beat 88 Heroes at only $14.99. I would buy the game, even at full price.

8.3 / 10.0 - Scanner Sombre
Oct 25, 2017

While a unique and wonderful experience, the extremely short length of the game, and little replay value make it hard to recommend to everyone. But as the game has a free demo available on Steam, anyone even remotely interested should try it as soon as they have a free few minutes.

8.3 / 10.0 - Shadowhand

Assuming you can imagine using solitaire as the combat mechanic this is actually quite good and imaginative. Nice loot, good RPG progression and it's all intertwined with the solitaire game. Strange but makes the time pass.

Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is a surprising effort from CI Games. If there’s anything to take away, it’s a damn good time. The solid mechanics, the world, and crafting abilities really show the experience of CI Games, marking a pinnacle in the series. However, technical mishaps hold this game back from being truly great. Long loading times and occasional cheese dialogue keep in a realm just below AAA status.

8.1 / 10.0 - Hollow Knight
Nov 6, 2017

Although it doesn't take that many risks, Hollow Knight is unique enough with its Metroidvania elements and its own take on Dark Souls lore. Its gameplay is tight and fluid, its art direction is on point, and it provides more than 30h of enjoyment if you consider the multiple endings—which are more engaging than a couple of choices right after the final boss fight—as well as the free expansion packs, all of which add enough content to prolong the experience.

8 / 10.0 - The Surge
May 21, 2017

The Surge is an impressive title from Deck 13 and Focus Home Interactive. The context provided by the story, solid visuals, and gameplay advancements are exciting for how this new kind of ARPG will progress into the future. However, slight mishaps in the graphical department with a lack of separation and an occasional lack of mystery hold The Surge back from being truly excellent.

This is a behemoth of a game franchise and should be experienced by anyone who follows football in any manner. I started playing the game with only a fleeting interest in football, and now it is one of the most important aspects of my life. Football Manager is not only a game, it is a factor in so many people’s lives whether it be good or bad reasons. The bad mainly being the game has been cited in 35 divorce cases… I can wholeheartedly recommend Football Manager 2017 at full price for any football fan out there.

Certainly worth playing if you have the time and patience, but perhaps worth waiting till you have the time to properly delve into the world, otherwise the full experience may be lost on you.

Planescape: Torment is a game that transcends the medium by doing something that no other medium can do: it doesn’t just tell you a story; it makes you a part of the story through a variety of possible interactions and roleplaying systems in ways that very few games have done. The Enhanced Edition makes it possible to play it in current hardware and systems without hiccups and overly complicated tweaking/modding guides.

8 / 10.0 - Jydge

Fantastic! With a vicious aesthetic, hectic but not overwhelming pacing across multiple difficulties, intricate level design and overall mechanical complexity, Jydge manages to sweep its complete lack of story, dialogue, and spelling under the rug. Ryg.

Skyrim is an old game that has been released in many formats. You may baulk at the full price tag however, this is the full game and all the DLC’s fully playable in VR, that is some major game time ahead of you. Skyrim VR is well worth the cost of admission and shows us there is some real hope for the future of Virtual reality. This is a very promising sign for the future of VR.

I enjoyed every minute of it. I would have like to see the price drop a little bit over the course of the past two years but you are still getting a game that is a joy to play from start to finish here.
