Warlock's Tower is a fun puzzle game that's challenging, but not hard enough to rage quit. As a whole, the game is charming and it's fun alone, with a friend, or on the go.
Overall, it's another point in click game, with unique puzzles. It lacks anything too special, though, making it hard to recommend for those non-enthusiastic about the genre. If you are a puzzle game fan, and can't seem to find another alternative, this one is definitely worth a look. That being said, if you aren't a puzzle game fan, or already have your fill of puzzling action, this game is not for you.
I expected Super Mario Maker 2 to be an outstanding sequel but instead, it’s simply good. It takes steps forward and back in near equal measure, having significant post-launch shortcomings that go beyond mere nitpicking.
Can a game be tense and relaxing at the same time? Vectronom rides this line pretty well, offering a puzzle game that is as gorgeous as it is challenging. When played with headphones, it's as immersive as any puzzle game has ever been.
Neon Junctions is a simple puzzle game that doesn't last very long, but is a great way to spend an afternoon if you're looking for something to beat in a sitting. Unfortunately though the puzzles don't get challenging until the last few stages, which left a feeling for more.
Project Nimbus: Complete Edition is a fast-paced, action-packed shooter with smooth controls, vivid graphics, and three different modes to keep you busy for a while. At the price of $20, it's worth a try.
Despite its cheap price tag, it remains hard to recommend due to its non-intuitive nature without a tutorial. I'd highly suggest that AskAnEnemyStudios considers adding a tutorial section if they want more people to take this game on Switch seriously. Personally, I don't see the game being worth anyone's hard-earned cash, especially for parents looking for a game to pick up for their child.
Even if you only end up playing for 10 minutes at a time, Timberman is a fair addition to the 3DS eShop for just $1.99. Just don't expect any depth.
Overall, Golem Gates, is a unique take on the card-playing genre and welcome addition to the Switch library. Nonetheless, it has some minor flaws, even if it remains functionally intact. Either Way, Golem Gates is a must try for anyone looking for a strategy game on Switch and/or a fun multiplayer option! I can definitely see this game being something I come back to during airport gameplay sessions, or even just when I have a bunch of time to kill.
Giga Wrecker Alt is a pretty cool game. It has some issues and likely won't compel all players to keep going, but the puzzles are good, and getting to throw a ton of junk to smash a robot is always fun. The game looks good, sounds good, and offers plenty of play time, so get in there and wreck it.
So, what we've got in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a well-designed game that's poorly developed. A championship-caliber team that needs another few months (or perhaps another year) of training camp. 505 Games has promised to fix the glaring problems, but I can't review a game based on promises. There's still some fun to be had here, but it shouldn't have been released in its current state. Wait for the updates. If they don't come, wait for a sale…and stay away from the bookshelves.
Altogether, My Friend Pedro is a speedrunner's paradise, offering a charming story with good gunplay for its price tag. But if you are looking for pure replay value you won't find that here (unless you are a speedrunner).
We. the Revolution is the kind of game that you need to concentrate on, in a way that is captivating and graphic.
While the mystery in "Alternate Jake Hunter: DAEDALUS The Awakening of Golden Jazz" is entertaining, the rhythm felt off with multiple lulls and heavy dialogue that hampered the experience of the story overall.
Forest Home is a pleasant puzzler with cute animals that will charm and challenge children until it gets too big for them. It takes a long while to get interesting for older gamers, but at least the woodland characters don't get annoying along the way. The sheer volume of puzzles explains the asking price, but it's unlikely players in any age group are going to finish them all. Maybe that's the point; let the whole family take their turns on the same account and, after a while, all of the forest creatures will finally find their home.
I would say War Tech Fighters does a fairly good job of living up to the claim of combining anime with blockbusters. The action is fairly steady throughout the game. The ability to upgrade and customize your War Tech is tons of fun. Aside from the load times, everything about this game says yes. If you're looking for a ton of action, War Tech Fighters is certainly a game you should try.
Overall, Warlocks 2: God Slayers is not perfect, but it definitely plays like it. With extensive replay incentive, charming quirks, in-depth customization, and satisfying combat, it is hard not to recommend this title. It is a fun metroidvania package, and one worth a try even if the genre isn't your favorite and/or hasn't stood out.
Which isn't to say there's anything inherently wrong with GoFishing 3D's simple approach… but that only works when the game is actually good. The devs need to look at the level of quality or lack thereof. Just because a game can coast on mobile doesn't mean it's the right choice for the Switch. GoFishing 3D is just too poor on so many levels. Not to mention it is absurdly priced, making it only worthwhile as a catch and release game to those wanting an overpriced chuckle.
VA-11 Hall-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action is a unique experience that's literally a book in game form. Mixing drinks and changing lives proves to be a blast as you interact with many interesting characters. There's loads of reading to do here but as long as you're ready to read a novel while you play, this is one book, er, game that you won't want to put down.
In the end, My Big Sister had a story that stands out from the crowd. With multiple outcomes, it certainly does hold the value of it's asking price of $5.99. Players looking for a more traditional RPG experience may want to steer away. If, however, you're seeking a good puzzler RPG with a decent sense of humor that helps lighten some dark themes, then My Big Sister is something to check out.
