Old School Musical is a lot of fun. It's fast-paced, unique, and upbeat. It's a simple game that requires a lot of attention and it's a game I'll pick up and play again for sure.
Although Debris Infinity is very well designed, it does lack depth and longevity. Learning the enemy waves and mastering your approach towards them extends the fun, but to no real purpose other than leaderboard bragging rights. As such, after just a session or two I was always ready to move on to something else. That amounts to less than 10 minutes of game time, which is pretty short even in this age of mobile gaming. But at only $5.00, Debris Infinity will continue to scratch that arcade itch for as long as you're willing to let it.
While Velocity 2X deserves merit for blending two different forms of gameplay into one hefty treat, 2X quickly becomes bland after the course of only a few minutes.
Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle is not a game that takes itself especially seriously, but it does everything it promises to, in terms of both puzzles and carnage.
Much like its title character, Detective Gallo is a game that manages to grow on you and is a pretty easy purchase for genre fans.
Super Hyperactive Ninja has a simple and silly premise that results in a funny, fast-paced game. It's not complicated, but it is challenging even to keep you engaged level after level.
Black Bird has a distinctly creepy fairytale feel about it, with a dark story and the kind of retro explosions that will appeal to any lifelong gamer.
Despite the lack of more expansive exploration and getting stuck in walls, Lifeless Planet was great fun. The story was very strong and the soundtrack and background music really set the tone for it over all. If you haven't played Lifeless Planet in the past it is certainly worth your time.
Armello is worth a look for board game enthusiasts. For those looking for a party game to play with friends, its slow pace and lack of local multiplayer make it hard to recommend.
Overall Tricky Towers is an excellent idea, generally well executed, with a few areas that could use improvement. Ultimately though, it's fun to play alone, with friends, or with strangers, and puzzle game fans will no doubt find many hours of enjoyment.
If you have three friends visiting and Super Mario Party is the centre of your gathering, you will be guaranteed a great time. This entry is a positive step for the series and a fitting entry for the Switch, especially when it comes to the fantastic local multiplayer. The array of game modes, the traditional boards, and of course, the mini-games, will have you challenging your friends for precious hours of pure memorable joy!
Overall, Hover is an enjoyable game that gives the player a lot to do. I would recommend it, and say it is worth its current price of $24.99. If nothing so far about the game seems to interest you enough to spend that much, I would wait for a sale before giving it a go.
Valkyria Chronicles 4 is a game squarely aimed at the Fire Emblem crowd, but any fan of tactical, turn-based combat, military strategy and…honestly…YA romance should at least download the free demo and give it a try.
The Swindle is an excellent combination of platformer and stealth game, with a gorgeous steampunk aesthetic that absorbs you completely into the game.
Even though it's a cute game, My Brother Rabbit is short. After three hours or so the end credits roll.
Rise and Shine is a delightful title that pays homage to a lot of great franchises, and has solid gameplay. While the story elements could be better, this game is still entertaining until the end.
With a lot of similarly styled games on the market right now, the vastness and the creativity of Chasm makes for a really fun take on a popular theme.
Doughlings Arcade is quick to play and easy to pick up on the go. The gameplay is tougher than it seems which adds a lot to the simplicity of the gameplay.
If you're a fan of retro arcade titles, or you just want something quick and fun to play on your Nintendo Switch then I definitely recommend getting Shootout. However, if you're looking for a more in depth experience or something with a strong storyline, then you might want to pass on this one.
Marble It Up offers some polished entertainment, but it feels incomplete to me. It's often frustrating, not just from uneven difficulty, but from unrealized potential. It needs more to justify its $19.99 price tag. The fun is fleeting.
