65 / 100 - The Crown of Wu
Mar 27, 2023

The Crown of Wu is an adequate game, but it doesn’t offer anything particularly new or different. It’s a game that may be worth getting if you’re really into 3D soulslike games and you’ve been having some trouble finding new ones worth playing. Otherwise, this is not a game that can be particularly recommended.

Capcom's remake of Resident Evil 4 is an entirely new experience, shifting the focus from horror to action, which may not sit well with fans of the original. The remake, however, does an excellent job of restoring any concerns that may have been raised about it. Visually impressive surroundings, compelling cutscenes, and the new gameplay mechanism all contribute to the renewed appeal of Leon's saga.

72 / 100 - BLACKTAIL
Mar 22, 2023

BLACKTAIL feels like an interactive folk story; with the use of Slavic myths as well as its own original ideas, the storytelling and immersion are truly excellent. Despite all the praise, combat is a huge drawback and does bring the story down quite a bit, but BLACKTAIL is truly like no other and gives an excellent twist to a classic folk story. BLACKTAIL is currently available on Steam.

70 / 100 - Tchia
Mar 22, 2023

Aside from a few missing mechanics and usual features of this genre such as the lack of fast travel and wildlife to Soul-jump into, Tchia is still a brilliantly designed game with beautiful visuals, rich culture to explore, breathtaking music, and so much more. The atmosphere might seem unnecessarily cheery and light, but that might be the main message the game has to offer.

The Outer Worlds is what Obsidian does best, a character-driven RPG that allows you to resolve situations however you see fit. The game's overall quality suffers a little because of the constant irrelevant switching of gears and items that takes the attention. Yet, it's a solid role-playing game where stories and choices matter more than mindless fetch quests. Spacer's Choice Edition is significantly enhanced graphically, and the AI is vastly improved compared to the original.

Have a Nice Death may have its problems, but it’s a great experience and one worth playing if you’re a fan of the genre. Plus, it has some of the best aesthetics in the business, and the little Death character is an adorable thing that is immensely fun to use as you destroy everything in your path. So, this game comes highly recommended despite the flaws.

Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon has stunning visuals and fantastic, original gameplay. Fans of the main series should pay close attention to this game because of its uniqueness. It's a very different kind of attraction that trades fast-paced combat for relaxing exploration and puzzle-solving. The game's diversified gameplay comes from the excellent balancing between its well-designed puzzles and battles.

45 / 100 - Mato Anomalies
Mar 12, 2023

Mato Anomalies can be described as a game with a lack of focus. While the ideas for an excellent game are there, and the art style is superb, it is unfortunately submerged beneath the cavalcade of unfinished ideas and a confusing plot. Mato Anomalies does not know where its focus lies, and because of this, every aspect of the game suffers.

PARANORMASIGHT: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo is a pleasant surprise from Squire Enix, a brilliant work of art that sets the genre's standard even higher. The game's dialogue-heavy design, challenging puzzles, and unexpected turns demand players' full focus. It's a must-play for fans of both horror and visual novels and games that use multiple perspectives to tell a gripping story.

Even without a gripping story, Wo Long is a wild ride from the beginning to the end. The story and visuals suffer more than they should, but it's still a solid role-playing game. Seasoned Nioh fans will have to pick up their paces to adjust to Wo Long's combat system. Not everyone will relish Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, but those willing to take on the challenge will have a fantastic time.

75 / 100 - Scars Above
Mar 2, 2023

Scars Above has some promising ideas for a much deeper sci-fi action game, but not all were fully utilized. While it aims to be a Souls game, it ultimately comes out mostly as a decent third-person shooter. It's true that the game isn't perfect and has its share of drawbacks; still, it manages to differentiate itself from the crowd of soulslike games by introducing some fresh concepts.

75 / 100 - Dust & Neon
Feb 27, 2023

Dust & Neon is definitely going for something, and it does include a very satisfying overall gameplay loop, but the technical issues can be grating in the long term as they are persistent, and once you become accustomed to the way things are done in the game, there’s no real deviation.

OCTOPATH TRAVELER II illustrates superbly how to revive a classic JRPG. This sequel matches the original's quality and improves upon it in almost every way. Due to a few lengthy boss fights and a high volume of random encounters requiring their fair share of playing time, the game will appeal to genre veterans more than newcomers.

Although there are some nitpicks, such as its price tag, easy boss fights, and possibly insufficient new features, Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe is still fun. It may not do anything groundbreaking, but it does a great job of breathing new life into a platformer largely forgotten since its Wii release. What we get from HAL Labs goes beyond a mere port with a new story, engaging challenges, and a slick presentation.

75 / 100 - Atomic Heart
Feb 24, 2023

While not flawless, Mundfish has succeeded mainly in their debut game. Gorgeous settings with a distinct sense of style and surroundings set Atomic Heart apart, especially its unforgettable robot twins. Despite its interesting concepts and combat mechanism, however, it suffers from technical and pacing issues that lessen its overall quality.

85 / 100 - The Pale Beyond
Feb 24, 2023

The Pale Beyond is a fantastic game. From the intense and methodical gameplay, stunning art style, and fantastic characters. Everything about this game is meticulous and shows in every aspect of the title. The gameplay can become repetitive, especially during longer playing sessions, but the depth of the characters and the marvelous atmosphere that this title manages to conjure seems to grip you as you attempt to survive the horrifying cold of the arctic.
