Rogue Legacy 2 is built to be played for hours at a time or for ten minutes; it’s welcoming to Rouge-like newbies and PC veterans; It’s uncomplicated yet with a suitable amount of depth. Cellar Door Games have undoubtedly outdone themselves again, setting a new bar for the Rogue-lite gameplay style they helped kickstart.
Lake is exactly what it promises to be: A relaxing routine for you to step away from your fast life. Every single aspect of Lake is there to simplify the experience, to make it easier to get through. But it becomes boring so soon, and there is no replay value.
If you like watching and maintaining stats, then this is the game for you! If you like slow, methodical decision making and no combat or twitch reflexes, then Insurmountable is the game for you. If you want a narrative, linear progression of any kind, or compelling characters, then this is not the game for you. You will just be walking around a mostly ambient noise-filled world incredibly slowly, but that could be your jam!
Lapovich Team came up with a brilliant idea but failed to balance social conflict management and city building with limited resources. If you're seeking a challenging management experience that will keep you engaged for a long time, Kapital: Sparks of Revolution is the game for you. At the same time, fans of city-building simulation can wait until the game is improved.
DayZ is far less a game and more an open toolkit to make a unique but unpredictable adventure. Some might find an extremely intense survival adventure. Others may feel the mixed excitement, terror, and loneliness of relying on strangers.
Metroid-Vania-style games are two-a-penny these days, so does B.I.O.T.A stand-out amongst the pack? B.I.O.T.A is a faithful, action-packed blast through a series of satisfying levels and cool bosses, and really, that’s all you need from these sorts of games.
While Switch Sports' liberal difficulty levels help it seem more approachable than its predecessors, having additional methods to customize the experience would go a long way in this case as well. Nintendo Switch Sports is undoubtedly a worthy successor, but it doesn't come for free because of how quickly the world has evolved since Wii Sports.
Kaiju Wars is a fun but all too brief tactical experience. While each individual campaign battle is engaging, with only six acts Kaiju Wars doesn’t have enough content on its own. Players will need to rely on building their own maps and finding others produced by the Steam community.
Chernobylite can be very enjoyable for players who want to take on the role of team leader and savior. While exploration will be crucial at first, as the base grows in size, players will be spending much of their schedule staying behind, sorting supplies, and simply manning the fort. Players that instead want a deep combat-focused game will not find it here.
FixFox is a mixed bag. On the one hand, it offers an exciting story and delivers its promise to tell this story in a way that does not lack the intensity it calls for. Still, on the other hand, there are certainly some issues that hinder the game from being more interesting than it is. It is pretty tedious and frustrating at times and fun and incredibly satisfying at some other times.
MotoGP 22 accomplishes an incredible simulation in terms of playability, and only a few games will be able to replicate the authentic sense that we had when playing the game. However, several key things are lacking to make us thrilled with this year's edition. There's hardly any doubt that the series has reached a decent level; however, this year's improvements over the previous versions are still insufficient to consider this release a landmark.
Godlike Burger has some fantastic concepts but isn’t executed quite well. These issues aren’t big enough to ruin the game's entirety but make it feel like balance patches should be deployed soon. Definite improvements could include full open sandbox mode, better controls, and some multiplayer.
Shadow Warrior 3 felt like a significant step down from the excellent Shadow Warrior 2, and it's a tremendous disappointment and a squandered chance to improve the franchise and get it out of its rut. Even when things go well, Lo Wang's irritating attitude makes it difficult to take pleasure in them. He is constantly pounding our ears with silly one-liners and awful acting, and even the bosses aren't fun to confront.
Get in the Car, Loser! A fun, if sometimes an emotionally distressing game that can have somewhat repetitious combat, but if you dig the combat, you’ll probably be just fine. So, pick it up and go on a great road trip.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is an experience that is sure to please almost every Star Wars fan out there despite the setbacks, and this is exactly what everyone needed after the notorious trilogy.
While the plot and characters are entertaining and engaging, there is nothing else in Chinatown Detective Agency that seems quite as captivating. Amira Darma's exploits and relatability carry the story to its conclusion, but the way is obstructed needlessly by deleted or bugged voiceovers, confusing puzzle solutions, and an unnecessary money system.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarök isn't a bad game, but it isn't particularly fantastic either. You can still have a good time with Dawn of Ragnarök if you're still craving Valhalla after hours of gameplay. Svartalfheim is a gorgeous place to wander around, although it has nothing to do with Assassin's Creed.
Submerged: Hidden Depths is an exploration game that aims to bring peace and tranquility to players. However, it is best not to try to finish this game quickly. Take your time, find the collectibles, explore everything to see, and complete the game. This is because there is a lot to see, a lot to take in, and a lot to appreciate here.
Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition does an excellent job of presenting to a new audience a period in Square Enix history that many may have forgotten. It achieves this by including two fantastic games in one package. However, there is little doubt that it might have been better as a remaster.
The Ascent can be great fun with three other like-minded players. There are lots to explore in Veles and many challenges. On the flip side, much of the game falls apart or is otherwise tedious solo.
