If you have an hour or two to spare, give Eclipse: Edge of Light a try. There are interesting things to discover behind the lore of the game. While the world feels a bit empty, the serenity of it all is really something to admire. Just remember, it’s not a lengthy game, but it doesn’t need to be.

9 / 10.0 - Disco Elysium
Dec 24, 2019

Overall , while paying respects to gaming’s founding fathers in familiar yet polished gameplay, Disco Elysium paves its own path. While the controls sometimes feel lacking, it is the narrative heart and aesthetics that truly shine to an exemplary level.

Respawn has done something for fans of the series, making what is practically a love letter to the franchise. Because of this, thankfully, we can happily say the single-player Star Wars game is back in full force.

Overall, it should be known that Life is Strange 2 is an achievement in narrative storytelling in video games. It’s an eye-opening story of two brothers that have everything thrown at them, yet they continue to persevere.

The ending of Life is Strange 2 will definitely depend on the player. For those that developed an investment in the journey, most will enjoy the reward at their conclusion. Others may not get the payoff they expect, but that’s the beauty of a choice-driven game. It’s ultimately up to the player to reach the ending they chose for themselves.

I genuinely feel bad for Tokyo Ghoul fans. There is a lot of potential within the franchise to provide a violent and stylish action game. The Subsistence mode especially has glimmers of potential lurking. Unfortunately, the clunky combat, shoddy presentation and bland visuals make it a chore to play.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered is enjoyable in short doses, but before long, it begins to feel like a chore. While I loved this game as an 11-year-old, I would find it incredibly difficult to suggest this to someone who wasn’t already a big fan of the Ghostbusters franchise.

The introduction of the Wild Area, while far from perfect, could be the genesis of something truly ambitious for the franchise. As it stands, even if it relies on old tropes, Sword and Shield improves in the areas that are the most important. There isn’t a better time to embark on an adventure and catch them all once more.

9.5 / 10.0 - Death Stranding

Death Stranding may not be a perfect game, but it’s still a work of art, and we definitely appreciate it. There is so much to say about the game, but we encourage you to play the game and find out for yourself.

Luigi always lived in the shadow of his big brother, but even if he's a bit scared of this shadow, there is nothing scary about playing Luigi's Mansion 3.

I would certainly advise hardcore fans of the series to pick this game up, as the overall experience feels more polished than ever. Even if you are not a COD fan, this might be the perfect time to jump in the universe, meet Captain Price, and crush your enemies.

Overall, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 doesn’t quite reinvent the wheel for the series. As the first Switch entry, it’s great to see a button alternative for every single event. However, it would’ve been nice to see more effort in the presentation.

9 / 10.0 - The Outer Worlds

If you’re a fan of games like Fallout or The Elder Scrolls, then The Outer Worlds is definitely for you. Even if not, the Halcyon system is always welcoming new recruits to start their space cowboy journey.

It definitely controls better than the original game, but when the foundation was rocky to begin with, there wasn't much that Sega could've done to save this one.

Whether you’ve been a fan from the beginning or you’re starting out now, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III is a fine JRPG. It may have an overwhelmingly rich history, but there’s plenty of elements in place to help newcomers.

Return of the Obra Dinn is a must play not just for fans of puzzle games, but fans of games in general. The game achieves exactly what it sets out to do, and then does so much more. For the price you pay, there’s a lot to explore, and multiple endings to discover.

7.5 / 10.0 - Daemon X Machina
Oct 16, 2019

The controls are simple enough to grasp, but after a few story missions, you might not want to keep going. For what it’s worth, I enjoyed my time with Daemon X Machina, and I hope it finds its audience, because it’s a pretty good game, despite a few flaws.
