Borderlands 3 makes some smart improvements over its foundations. A vast variety of weapons, tighter controls, fast-travel and other quality of life improvements make it the definitive installment.
When it comes down to it, Indivisible is a game with a ton of love and effort. It may not be for everyone, but it has a clearly visible charm to it that gives it a bright glow.
For a re-imagining of an arcade classic, BurgerTime Party! is pretty enjoyable. The creative premise, cartoony visuals and multiplayer mayhem are all a part of this multiple course meal.
The good definitely outweighs the bad in Code Vein. The character customization, character loadout flexibility, and general visual style separate it from the bunch. It’s also easier than others in the genre. Newcomers shouldn’t feel the pressure of overcoming too immense of a gameplay hurdle to succeed. Time will tell if this is the beginning of a long running series, but it’s a promising start.
On top of the strong campaign are the three equally strong multiplayer modes, making the game a great option for that competitive itch. Gears 5 continues to take the series in a different direction, and I can’t wait to see where it heads next.
Deathstate feels a little too familiar to stand out from the rest. There are enjoyable moments and it is easier than its gaming brethren, but that doesn’t make it better. Even fans of the genre might not find enough to sink their teeth into to keep coming back to this one.
While this version isn’t a major step up from the original release four years ago, Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution is a perfect match on the Nintendo Switch. Being able to pick up and play a few battles here and there is ideal for handheld play.
The Sojourn doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it does enough to carve its own identity and succeed. The story weaves nicely throughout each section and touches on the visuals and mechanics of each respective area very well. For puzzle game fans, this is a strong recommendation. It's not an all-time great, but it is worth the time.
When it comes down to it, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne isn't just an expansion. It's an overall improvement to what was already an excellent game. More monsters, more attacks, new strategies and challenges, and new distractions add tons of content to the game. It's easy to lose track of time in Iceborne, as hunts will continue to keep you engaged. If you took a break or even if you never left the New World, Iceborne adds plenty to make the game feel fresh again.
Overall, the enjoyable gameplay and reliably fun game modes are what make NBA 2K20 great. However, I still find myself waiting for 2K to create a new and exciting game mode in the future that will essentially make it the perfect game.
It may not be PlatinumGames' finest title, but it's definitely a fun time for any Switch owners looking for their next blood-pumping action title.
When it comes down to it, Final Fantasy VIII Remastered is still a great game. It has some flaws that bog down the experience from the original release, but it still has some great enhancements.
Realistic racing with a brilliant learning curve and destruction as far as the eye can see. No other racing game on a console that's dropped this year so far has what's been put together here.
With nearly perfect gameplay and entertaining stories, Full Body will prove to be the perfect blend. If you're a new player or even just a fan of the original, Catherine has never been more worth picking up.
Remnant: From the Ashes is a fascinating game with a lot of well executed mechanics. However, there are numerous technical issues and creative decisions that mar the experience. Hopefully, these issues will be addressed in near-future patches that will allow the game to shine brighter.
If you like weird and supernatural games, this one is worth picking up. If you prefer a game with less thought and more action, then it might not be your cup of tea. Even so, there's plenty of intense action in Control.
Just having a one-on-one mind game to see who can punish who first is a lot of fun. Even with its issues, Samurai Shodown is definitely a step in the right direction for the series. If it keeps going at this rate, it can only go up.
Sean and Daniel have encountered a lot on their journey, and it's nearing its end. If the final episode can deliver as well as Faith has, then Life is Strange 2 will be an excellent story as a whole.
As a sports game, Madden NFL 20 isn't necessarily a bad game. The gameplay flows at a good pace and playing basic one-on-one matchups with your friends is just as fun as ever. It's really the constant repetitiveness that hurts Madden.
RAD is only kind of rad, not super rad...That being said, the art is very enjoyable, providing a visual treat throughout each run.
