I’m a wrestling nerd and I’m not afraid to say it. So, when the chance came along to review WWE 2K22, I grabbed that brass ring with both hands.
From the creators that bought you A Good Snowman, Cosmic engineers release Cosmic Express. The journey to getting adorable little monsters back home. I was super keen to play this game, so find out my thoughts here.
The release of the Nintendo Wii bundled with Wii Sports is of cultural significance to not just gamers but households worldwide. I remember my first experience round a family friend’s for New Year’s Eve, where every one of us joined in, taking it in turns to play. My little mind was blown at the motion controls, which were so innovative at the time.
Pirates are a pretty versatile group. Whether it’s on the high seas, in space, or on a distant planet. If a pirate’s involved then you know what kind of adventure you’re in for. On its surface Black Skylands ticks many pirate boxes. You’ll be the captain of your own ship, travel to interesting places, go on grand adventures, tackle someone wanting to destroy your way of life, and even find treasure. However, rather than taking place on land, this adventure sees you heading to the skies – and your boat…it’s an airship!
Yes, we have reviewed Trigger Witch already on the Switch, haha that rhymes! So this review will be a short and sweet number as I try to detail the differences between the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch versions. Yes, the PS5 is more powerful but for a game like Trigger Witch, which is a pixelated top-down game that will run well on most consoles, I suspected most differences to be minor. Strap yourself in and lets Trigger Witch!
How To Take Off Your Mask Remastered is a visual novel set in the fantasy world of Eroolia, where humans live alongside a sort of hybrid cat-human species of beings called Luccretias. How To Take Off Your Mask was originally released in 2015 only on PC (Mac and Windows). The remastered version means that the game is now available to enjoy on consoles as well. However, is this port worth a try? Read my Rapid Review to find out.
Rise Eterna tells the story of Natheal who is basically muscle to a group of bandits. One night, the bandits attempt to invade and rob a city while Natheal keeps guard at their fire camp. The next day, our hero realizes that his pals have not returned. He heads for the village only to see it in shambles and finds a young woman hurt on the ground, somehow still alive. As he brings her back to the camp to heal her, he realizes that she killed his employers in defending her village. With nowhere else to go, the girl, Lua, tags along with Natheal as they head to discover Lua’s mysterious origins.
I had never heard anything about The Sorrowvirus: A Faceless Short Story until we received a code for the game. However, after reading the description and viewing the trailer, I was interested in seeing what the game would offer. Did the game resonate with me? Or was I left in sorrow? Find out in this Rapid Review.
Very few games catch my eyes when it comes to visual storytelling. One such game series that did well in terms of visual storytelling was Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead Series. I played that series from the very beginning, all the way to The Walking Dead: The Final Season. Playing those games allowed me to respect the style of visual storytelling.
For many games, the majority of the fun comes in the form of mods (in-game content created by players). So when a mod for Elder Scrolls: Skyrim hit 3 million downloads, after its release in 2015, the developers took this as a sign. They freshly remade the mod to become its own standalone game, improving the NPC’s unique stories, and including mythology into the background of the story.
Dawn of the Monsters is a beat-em-up title that features massive beasts and robotic mechs taking out other ferocious monsters. As I piloted these behemoths, I explored various landscapes and worked to save human civilization. Did these immense creatures make the game massively fun? Or did it end up being a big flop? Find out in this Rapid Review.
HighFleet is a hard-core strategy title that’s been developed by Konstantin Koshutin and published by MicroProse. Combining a rich strategic element with tactical air combat, and resource management, HighFleet will either see you save your nation or watch its hope burn in the harsh desert sun.
Throughout the summer of 2021, I was desperate for the quiet autumn nights. Wrapped up in my newest blanket addition, with a pumpkin spice candle glistening on the mantlepiece, was all a gal could dream of.
GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon is a slow-paced rogue-like that sees a samurai fighting through limbo and defeating hordes of monstrosities that live in the depths of hell. Using sharp blades, spears and multiple other armaments you will be slaying, upgrading your arsenal and fighting huge bosses while navigating through a maze searching for a away out. If you die, however, your soul is reincarnated into a new body, losing everything you’ve gathered. You’ll need to start afresh and fight your way back to the top again. A typical formula for any good rogue-like, this is no exception.
I first heard about Cat Cafe Manager when it appeared on my Twitter feed, instantly posting it in our ‘games to get codes for’ section of the RR Discord server. If you have read some of my previous reviews such as Calico, it’s no secret that I love cats! I also love a good sim game, so it seemed right up my street.
Run, climb, jump, swing, and die, die, die. These are the things that you will be doing a lot of when playing Glam’s Incredible Run.
I’m often wary of titles that have started their lives off on mobile devices. Quite often these games offer simple, repetitive gameplay that never quite shakes off the shackles that comes with mobile gaming. While there are plenty of truly horrendous mobile ports on the market (I’m looking at you Afterpulse!), there are a few diamonds in the rough. One such title aiming to be a cut above the rest is EGGLIA Rebirth. And when it comes to the development team, Brownies have quite the RPG history behind them!
Dexter Stardust: Adventures in Outer Space is a point-and-click adventure following Dexter on his quest to uncover the mysteries of the galaxy, and to get enough money to buy a couple of tacos along the way. Is this space escapade out of this world? Or was it nothing special? Find out in this Rapid Review.
What is the first game to come to your mind when you think of top-down shooters? How about hack n’ slash games? What I think of is Halo: Spartan Assault for a top-down shooter and I think of Devil May Cry for a hack n slash game. With Blackwind, you get the best of both worlds, but at a cost. What’s that cost? Your sanity. I have been playing this game now for at least five and a half hours, and I have wanted to just chuck my controller at a wall. More on that later.
Borderlands has been a much-loved series for many years, since the original released in 2009. It went on to release a further 3 games across many platforms, all with very similar gameplay mechanics because fans adored the looter-shooter dynamic. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it, right? Well, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is upon us and it has brought a whole host of new features to my favourite game series. Let’s get into what they are.
