Returnal intends to present itself as the first big new original PlayStation 5 exclusive, and it certainly does not disappoint. With its enveloping narrative, well thought out mechanics and great implementation of the PS5’s distinctive features, we won’t be surprised if many players end up getting dozens (or hundreds) of hours of enjoyment out of Returnal. Despite one or two bizarre design choices, lacklustre boss encounters and some persisting technical issues, this is a very recommendable experience, and the first big affirmation of arrival from this new generation.

Truly, a title that manages to give the player a deep and memorable experience. It's impressive that WayForward managed to fit a game of this scale in the old Game Boy Color. For all intents and purposes, it has all the main pieces that define the series all while being one of the best experiences for the GBC in its own right. However, the GBC era is long gone, and we cannot turn a blind eye to its limitations. Therefore, Shantae is not an adventure every player will enjoy, but it's an enchanting window to the past of the series for long-time fans.

There’s no way around it, Disco Elysium – The Final Cut is an absolutely brilliant RPG. The vast amount of content to explore and all the character development systems guarantee a robust experience and all but assure no two campaigns are the same. Add to the mix a phenomenal story, with one of the best scripts we have seen, and we have before us one of the most memorable experiences this industry has to offer. Sure, the mostly slow pace won’t be to everyone’s taste, buy we simply have to recommend this game to any and all RPG fans.

Lost Words: Beyond the Pages is a profound experience of a child's grieving procedure. Presenting a huge dose of introspection, it takes us on several occasions, along an emotional path that we rarely find in video games. The combination of interesting gameplay and watercolor-style graphics helps make this a unique experience.

Tennis World Tour 2 starts by wanting to be the game of tennis, but ends up failing in some essential aspects, mainly that it makes reference to unite as several good ideas that it presents. It can be super fun to play with friends and watch them get desperate with the amount of balls thrown over the line, or make a career mode, but never too serious. Also to applaud the effort in the number of fields and athletes present in the game, only missing Novak Djokovic to complete the big 3 today. The sonority is what is expected in this type of games without a lot of variety but following the pace of the game well (where not even the groans of the players are missing).

Curse of the dead gods it’s an awesome title for the rouguelike type of games! It as the right mix between challenge and experimentation, that gives to the player dozens of hours of gameplay before it starts to wear. It’s really satisfying to finally complete a dungeon after a couple of spending hours. After all this you even can call it the morbid little brother of Hades that offers you a motivating combat and really well done and combined mechanics.

In “Dude, Where’s my Beer”, we are treated to an iconic experience of the best the Point n'click genre has to offer. Although denoting a healthy influence from other well-known titles, this one easily stands out by its own merit stands from the rest. If you like beer and good satire on modern society this is the ideal title for you! Don't forget to have a beer by the time you are done with it!

Bravely Default II learned from the mistakes of the previous titles in the series on 3DS, offering a richer and more traditional experience than that of its predecessors. This, in a way, ends up also being his Achilles' heel. Both his gameplay and narrative hardly innovate, compared to what so many other games of the genre have already accustomed us to. Still, Bravely Default II is undoubtedly a competent addition to Nintendo Switch's growing solid collection of JRPG’s, which should not pass up with lovers of this genre.

Monster Truck Championship is one of the best experiences of its kind. Although this aspect is not significant, as there is that much competition, the title presents a gameplay that is fun and realistic enough to please a wide range of players. However, we could not find justifications for those who already have the title of Playstation 4 or Xbox One, to buy this new version.

By drawing heavy inspiration from excellent titles such as the Zelda 3D games and A Hat in Time, Blue Fire took the risk of getting hurt by the comparisons with these acclaimed adventures. That alone shows the confidence of the devs in the game's worth - and after playing it, we confirmed that the journey through Penumbra is excellent and polished (besides the occasional crashes) and deserves the attention of the fans of the game's influences.

Persona 5 Strikers is the perfect successor to the original. Introducing new characters and an expanded approach to Japanese culture, it allows players to dream and travel to the country of the rising sun and all that it can offer. With stimulating mechanical combat, it is extremely rewarding to be able to master the biggest challenges of the game. Its audiovisual component continues to surprise, even those who have already tried the original.

Taxi Chaos presents some fleeting moments of chaotic gameplay but lacks the required personality to reach its inspiration’s heights. You can tell there is some passion behind it, and there are some interesting ideas, but its graphics and music are uninspired, and the overall package offers lacklustre of content. When played casually, you can get a few moments of fun out of it, but only the staunchest Crazy Taxi fans will be able to get some enjoyment from this attempt to revive its formula.

Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition is everything fans could want from this game and more. Introducing new characters and implementing new mechanics, was the way that Capcom managed to sustainably mature this series. Its extremely captivating and rewarding soundtrack and setting, allows the players to immerse themselves in this world for the duration of the entire experience. We can only hope that Capcom will continue to invest in this series and confirm how it will be able to reformulate in future titles.

Haven is an interesting game for those who want to enjoy a calm but not too elaborate romantic adventure. The idea is very well thought out but lacks in some aspects such as an exaggerated amount of transitions between scenarios, with long loads, or as repetitive exploration mechanics.

Control Ultimate Edition on the PlayStation 5 is a great example of what the new generation of consoles is capable of when compared to the previous. Graphics and performance are noticeably improved and bring some justice to this adventure’s very fun gameplay. Although some fundamental problems persist, before us is a much more consistent experience which is hard not to recommend to any fan of action games.

Cyber Shadow isn’t merely a nostalgia inducing adventure, but a triumph of modern game design. It’s demanding, it’s challenging, and despite a few exaggerated difficulty spikes, it grabs us with its rewarding easy to understand but hard to master gameplay. It’s a visual and auditory delight from beginning until end, and a game to which we will keep coming back in the future. Cyber Shadow is a game of undeniable quality, and one of this year’s first mandatory experiences.
