Gameliner's Reviews
Thank Goodness You're Here is, despite its simplicity, a true masterpiece that does everything it should do right. The entire game feels like a well-thought-out project into which a lot of love and attention has been poured. The jokes are superb, and the game is short enough that you don't tire of the humor. The simple art style and the hilarious voice acting in a Northern English dialect are the perfect additions to this very simple but effective formula. I'm incredibly glad that Thank Goodness You're Here is here.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II has become a truly remarkable passion project from Ninja Theory. Despite the studio having 'only' eighty employees, they've managed to score top marks in many areas. To begin with, Hellblade II is audiovisually the best this industry has to offer. Unreal Engine 5 performs magic on your screen, where cinematic visuals and in-game content are often indistinguishable. The audio is not only sharp and impressive, but thanks to binaural sound, it penetrates deep into your mind. 'Gripping' is a key term when describing this action game, reflected in the relentless combat against the horrors of the Viking era. Alongside the grand spectacle, there is an intimate story with Senua at its center. The way her mental and physical challenges are presented is simply top-tier writing. The emotional impact that Ninja Theory delivers with Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is one that will be praised for years to come.

Stellar Blade is an action adventure with an intriguing story about Earth's post-apocalyptic state. The world and characters look fantastic. Additionally, it’s rewarding and fun to explore the world by discovering the lore and opening chests (with puzzles). The combat system is extensive, providing intense yet enjoyable battles with the various Naytibas, each requiring a different approach. The bosses are on another level, though manageable except for the last three. I had a great time with Stellar Blade and expect that Shift Up Corporation will match or even exceed their success in the mobile market with this game. It’s definitely recommended if you enjoy action adventures with challenging and entertaining combat.

"Final Fantasy VII Rebirth surpasses Final Fantasy VII Remake with its addition of an open world, allowing players to explore Gaia freely and discover plenty along the way. The game features stunning visuals, a fantastic soundtrack, and enriched storytelling with iconic scenes and new twists, offering both nostalgia and surprises for fans. With enjoyable minigames, enhanced combat through Synergy Abilities, and three new characters with unique styles, even newcomers to Final Fantasy will find this JRPG a great time to jump in. Square Enix has truly outdone itself with this release."

For anyone who's a fan of Rogue-like indie dungeon crawlers with a hint of RPG elements in them, I heartily recommend UnderMine. Even for gamers who don't like indie titles, like myself, it's totally worth playing. I'm pleasantly surprised by how much fun I've had improving my runs until I finally managed to beat the first boss without too much trouble. After every time I died, I couldn't wait to continue digging and see how far I could get this time. However, I missed the opportunity to apply my own playing style a little more. This is mainly due to the randomness of the Relics, but I would also have liked to see some more RPG options regarding upgrading your character. UnderMine is a great game that I will definitely launch more often.

If you like simulator games and / or are crazy about airplanes then Flight Simulator is a game you should get. Yes, MUST. You are going to have a lot of fun with this and above all mainly enjoy it. If flying itself doesn't offer you enough of a challenge, you can still turn to the different challenges that the game has to offer. Especially nowadays it is a nice alternative to still be able to travel around the world in a certain way.

Puzzle enthusiasts and train lovers can dive into Train Valley World. The game not only boasts strong gameplay but also excellent level design. The creative levels are colorful and progressively more challenging. With new obstacles and more complex production chains, you'll be kept busy for quite a while. If you're looking for a challenge, you can try to complete the levels as quickly as possible, but you can also aim for the other two optional goals per level first. By earning stars, you unlock new trains and conductors, giving you more options. Since Train Valley World is so fun to play, it's a shame there are only sixteen levels. The Level Editor isn't available on the release day. However, the game currently offers enough content for the price, making it definitely worth recommending.

Sometimes, it's nice to be proven wrong, and with Nobody Wants To Die—a game that I seriously wondered might just be another case of overhyped fluff—Polish developer Critical Hit Games shows that "what you see is what you get" still exists. Stunning graphics, a strong dose of futuristic noir ambiance, and a gritty detective story make Nobody Wants To Die a game worth dying for, though you'll need to overlook a few criticisms to fully enjoy it. But if you’re not deterred by some audio issues and potential graphical glitches, Nobody Wants To Die is definitely a game worth checking out.
