A dark fantasy hack and slash that draws from religious myths, Lovecraftian and Russian folklore. Its pixel-art is disturbing, and together with the audio design, it puts the player into ruthless combats where instinct prevails over strategy.

A work with a very interesting story and characters that is marred by some technical errors and almost no player agency.

Although Soulstice seems to propose a trip to the hack and slash of the past, the differences introduced in the formula leave a very different sensations. Although the waiting time between battles is prolonged, they are fun, frenetic and interesting.

Shovel Knight Dig is a superb title that has given a new dimension to a beloved character that already exuded fun and greatness. The new mechanics blend seamlessly with the characters and enemies to create a new, yet very familiar situation that anyone who hasn't played the original game can enjoy.

An intense and short adventure in the underworld, with fast-paced combat with enough tools to make you feel powerful while still making it fun to bust demons, and elevated to the nth power with a masterful heavy metal soundtrack to feel the heartbeat of each battle even after you leave the game.

Absolute Tactics: Daughters of Mercy works phenomenally well as a turn-based strategy game. Although its Spanish translation is its Achilles heel, the main adventure is fun, solid and improves as we advance levels.

On the surface, an old school platformer, very complete and with a level design focused on offering a perfectly scaled challenge. But digging a little deeper, it has much more, creating a tremendously original fantasy world that is governed by a well thought out base and numerous characters that you end up getting attached to.

By itself, this The Cowabunga Collection is already a great compilation of retro video games of these characters. If we also include all the added value to the titles themselves brought by Digital Eclipse's exquisite treatment of the legacy of these characters, it is little less than an essential acquisition for those of us who grew up with the Ninja Turtles.
