4.7 / 5.0 - Strayed Lights
Apr 25, 2023

Strayed Lights is a truly beautiful game. While its visuals and audio design are incredibly vibrant and breathtaking, the true beauty of it shines through with how the game uses both. As for the combat, despite it being far more forgiving than other games in the genre, it still provides you with enough of a challenge to keep you engaged and keep coming back for more.

What starts as an exciting adventure of a young savior traveling through different planets loses steam and becomes a tedious enterprise midway. In the end, Batora: Lost Haven aims for a contained narrative that ironically struggles to find balance in a simplistic combat that is marred by difficulty spikes. Alas, fans of isometric action RPG games will find something to love if they are willing to look past its flaws.

4.2 / 5.0 - OTXO
Apr 21, 2023

OTXO gives you a sense of wanting to meet the next stage with more vigor like in the old-pixel games. Once cleared, you feel sort of proud as the levels are tough and get tougher as they progress. So give it a go and see how far you can take your run and improve your run times and scores at the end of each attempt, edging closer to victory with better results.

Mr. Sun’s Hatbox is a great pixel art game that proves looks can be deceiving. The game has a lot of charm, potential, and great gameplay; these three aspects combined into one game are a rarity. If we take into account the multiplayer side of the game as well, it’s a good game for hardcore players who want something more relaxed or a casual group of friends needing a laugh while going out on heists.

4.2 / 5.0 - Wartales
Apr 20, 2023

The more you play Wartales, the more you’ll find that many of the mechanics get deeper and deeper. The game is enjoyable as a whole. RPG-style strategy games are always more fun when played with a large group of people, and Wartales delivers on that front. It’s not a heavy RPG by any means—the story and dialogue are pretty sparse—but the turn-based combat is where it shines.

It is an echo of the past, as a lot could be said for the original game that inspired it all, but with today’s gaming market being full of rereleases and remakes, this particular game stands out amongst the crowd. Resident Evil 4 Remake displays just how fantastic the original 2005 game was, while also building upon what the previous version had left in its path and still being its own thing.

4 / 5.0 - House Flipper
Apr 17, 2023

House Flipper’s Farm DLC is a unique and more quality-of-life addition to an otherwise engaging game that can keep you busy for hours. While there are some obvious bugs, they don’t detract from the overall gameplay but they can still be annoying for those just starting. You can still unleash your inner creative demon and find your style in this home design simulator game.

2.5 / 5.0 - Marfusha
Apr 14, 2023

Considering the background of Marfusha, such as the one developer porting this PC game to several different consoles and its length and price, it is easy to give it a pass for what it’s going for. With a decidedly pick-up and play design behind it, Marfusha is a great choice for gamers who just want to kill time and enjoy a simple shooter.

Sherlock Holmes The Awakened explores a haunting adventure that is unsettling to live through and succeeds as a creative take. Marketed as a Lovecraft meets Sherlock Holmes original story, there are tinges of both mythologies that will satisfy any eager fan of either world.

4.4 / 5.0 - MLB The Show 23
Apr 9, 2023

MLB The Show 23 has claimed the title as the best edition in the series and with the abundance of major and minor changes, improvements and additions made, how could it not be? It has to be said that the new Storylines is a masterful addition to the series and playing some of the Negro League’s most iconic figures is nothing short of brilliance.

3.5 / 5.0 - Ravenbound
Apr 6, 2023

While Ravenbound has a great story and a few good features on the mechanics front, it still needs some improvement. What would help this game shine would be a world overhaul with a randomly generated terrain to keep things interesting and possibly a few minor quality-of-life improvements. While these flaws can take away from the overall experience, Ravenbound does have a lot of potentials to go far. But for now, there’s still a great story and literal mountains of lore to discover, maybe even a Betrayer to defeat.

Curse of the Sea Rats is a game that has that classic 2D animation charm, with its character design and voice acting, but the same cannot be said about the game’s gameplay which seems to not be that fleshed out and is too heavily built around its co-op. If you want to experience the game at its best, play it with a friend or younger sibling, otherwise, you won’t have the most enjoyable experience.

4 / 5.0 - Tchia
Mar 31, 2023

Tchia shines at its best when you are immersed in its laidback, breezy islands with the peaceful music taking over, unwinding and relaxing while exploring the many secrets of the archipelago. All in all a solid indie adventure that gives homage to a beautiful culture, enriching and teaching you about them in the process.

Railways: Train simulator does not feel like a simulator game at all and instead plays like a really simple mobile puzzle game. While each level has different environments and obstacles to throw you off your game, it still only feels like a game that is more suited to be either a Nintendo Switch or Mobile rather than a PC.

3.2 / 5.0 - Not For Broadcast
Mar 31, 2023

Not For Broadcast does have its fun moments, you don’t get enough time to appreciate them, and the game ends up feeling more like a chore to play. However, the Not For Broadcast: Live & Spooky DLC throws away the dull and monotonous gameplay and replaces it with over-the-top spooky gags that actually make the game fun, even for a short while.

ONI: Road to Mightiest Oni has a gorgeous semi-open world with an emotionally driven soundtrack. While the gameplay may seem lacking at some points, the story makes up for it with an interesting tale about a little Oni’s struggle to become strong enough to protect his people and about the friends he makes on the island. That is if your PC can handle the jitter that happens in the second area.

A surprisingly enjoyable 3D battle action game that leaves you coming back for more – and if you’re an anime lover, you will defo get a kick out of Alice Gear Aegis CS: Concerto of Simulatrix. Although, the defensive side, especially the shield, needs a little work, and the story may not be stellar. Nonetheless, it has more than enough content and then some to keep the target demographic very happy.

Season: A letter to the future is an incredible achievement as it is a risky endeavor to ask a gamer to slow down and breathe in the world they have painstakingly created, but once you let go of your preconceived notions, it will uplift you with its profound narrative.
