Bang-On Balls: Chronicles is a great, simple, and fun game that offers far more than it might seem at first glance (which is no surprise—you’re controlling a ball). Its sensational, comical premise, simple graphics, fantastic soundtrack, and easy controls are perfect for casual gamers who just want to have fun. Unfortunately, the game’s two-year Early Access period still shows, as it feels unfinished, and the constant craving for new content that doesn’t exist is incredibly demotivating. It has tremendous potential—it just needs to be fully realized.

Super Bomberman R 2 is a nice, laid-back, relaxing game that—especially in story mode—tries to shake off the criticism leveled at the previous installment. In my opinion, not much has changed—the single-player campaign is still boring. What I do have to appreciate, however, is the plethora of other game modes that will keep players entertained for hours on end, with the added bonus of fancy skins. This puts the game right on the fence: it’s fun, but it’s definitely not something I’d go crazy over.

Mixed, yet above average. The Shuyan Saga gives me a bit of a headache when it comes to rating it. A solid story, interesting characters, great storytelling, beautiful visuals, and amazing music are offset by lackluster voice acting and combat sequences that are genuinely poor in places. Fortunately, the game’s positives outweigh the negatives. So Shuyan might just be able to embark on one more adventure—after all, as I mentioned above, this is a Mulan knockoff.

Highrise City is an immersive city-building strategy game with a steep learning curve, featuring city construction, resource management, and a strong emphasis on economics. It’s not just a simple city builder, but a complex city-building and management game that focuses on the logical requirements for city operations and subsequent development. The icing on the cake is the ability to drive around the city you’ve built in a white pickup truck, putting you right in the thick of the action. However, the game is let down by relatively poor optimization and a user interface that’s confusing at first. Fans of the genre will definitely find it engaging and entertaining. I’d recommend that newcomers arm themselves with patience or opt for an easier title.

I have to admit that the game was a bit of a challenge for me at first, until I figured out how the mechanics and cards worked overall. Since I love the Lovecraftian universe and books in general, I ended up really enjoying Book of Hours. Figuring out new recipes and discovering new books kept me engrossed for hours at a time. If you liked Cultist Simulator, you definitely shouldn’t overlook this title either.

Strategic Mind: Spirit of Liberty is a solid turn-based strategy game that prides itself on historically accurate details and units, which is definitely one of the game’s biggest strengths. It’s a successful addition to the series that will delight fans of the series and lovers of the genre. However, it may prove slightly frustrating for beginners and casual players.

The story of Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical itself, as well as its characters, are superbly written. You can immediately form a connection with them—whether positive or negative—which, of course, changes as the game progresses based on the information you uncover. Although the game may seem quite fantastical, it tackles serious life themes such as death and survival, as well as the anxiety, depression, and fears of some of the characters. Everyone will find a song here that they’ll never be able to get out of their head. The voice acting is amazing and breathes life into the characters. Add in some romance and multiple possible endings, and you’ve got entertainment for a few days. I definitely recommend giving this game a try—it’s not just some run-of-the-mill visual novel.

Assassin's Creed Mirage is a solid entry in the Assassin's Creed series that heavily relies on nostalgia. In some ways, it even succeeded. I had a blast with the stealth mechanics and once again felt like I was returning to the classics. But that wasn’t enough. Incomplete optimization, the whiff of Valhalla, and a compromise rather than a return to the original versions—combined with unremarkable graphics—left me disappointed. I also didn’t quite understand Assassin’s Focus. Although there will definitely be more positives than negatives in the end, Basim’s adventure can’t be rated higher than slightly above average—even though this is the most affordable Assassin’s Creed game in years.

Sprawl is an excellent first-person shooter that combines old-school and modern gameplay. It succeeds in achieving what matters most within the genre—offering players adrenaline-fueled battles that play well and make them feel like they’ve transformed into powerful and capable killers. The immersive atmosphere is created by impressive audiovisual design that will make cyberpunk fans feel right at home.

Afterimage is a game that entices players with its breathtaking visuals and vast game world. Despite its shortcomings in navigation and its overall lack of accessibility, it has a lot to offer to those willing to invest time and patience in it. An experience full of exploration, fierce combat, and the ability to upgrade your character in various ways is an interesting addition to the Metroidvania genre and offers many hours of entertainment. It’s an intriguing title for fans of the genre who aren’t afraid to spend time in a beautiful yet unforgiving world of mysteries, magic, and the supernatural.

Stray Blade is unfulfilled potential. It could easily aim for the highest possible ratings thanks to its music, visuals, and unconventional skill tree. But that’s not enough. The Souls-like elements actually hurt the game, and even though Farren is very likable, his focus on fighting a single monster is incredibly limiting. Especially considering how often you end up fighting. Not to mention the hopeless gameplay design. It doesn’t help that the game doesn’t know exactly what it wants to be and, just like me with Farren, finds itself lost in the woods. As a result, it sinks into mediocrity, from which few will be willing to pull it out.

Xenonauts 2 is an enjoyable strategy game that offers fast-paced turn-based combat. The need to build a base, track UFO sightings on the global map, and shoot down flying saucers in a minigame format is quite engaging. The missions, in which you command your troops, are constantly evolving and force you to think on your feet and adjust your tactics with every turn. The game is mainly let down by minor bugs and crashes in certain situations. At the same time, it presents a challenge that will appeal to fans of the genre.

Deathsmiles I・II is a great game that will keep you entertained for a few hours. These two shooters, both over a decade old, are paired in a way that—even though their graphics clash—actually complement each other beautifully. If I set aside all the loli fanservice, I had an incredible time with this title. I did have to use a controller with my PC for this, but I do that with every other game these days. For fans of simple, blood-soaked shooters, this is a gem that will keep you entertained for a long time.

Payday 3 has interesting potential thanks to its diverse cast of criminal characters, character progression options, and various customization features. However, it suffers from several significant issues, including problems with servers, online features, and NPC artificial intelligence. The underdeveloped stealth system and the lack of logic in the behavior of civilians further diminish the enjoyment of the game. Overall, it’s an average game with interesting elements but many shortcomings that need to be addressed.

The first time I cleared the fog, my whole world changed. Moving Out 2 is a pretty funny, stressful, gorgeous-looking, tiring, great-sounding, exhausting game that puts you in one of life’s worst situations: moving. The enthusiasm that radiates from the game is contagious, whether you’re playing solo or with friends. I had a blast, especially with the varied, custom-designed levels—I enjoyed every inch of them, even when I couldn’t see what was around the corners. And the best part? I’ve now completed a truly professional training course for my own move.

12 is better than 6 is an enjoyable top-down shooter that stands out not only for its combat system but also for its unique hand-drawn visuals. TThe game combines the great satisfaction of making progress with the frustration of repeated deaths. If you’re a fan of the genre, aren’t put off by black-and-white graphics, and are prepared to die, 12 is better than 6 offers you great entertainment for an entire afternoon.

In my review of Forza Horizon 5, I said that, in my opinion, it’s the best racing game out there right now, and that statement still holds true. However, we have a strong competitor here that might one day threaten Microsoft’s series—and even if it doesn’t, we might at least get the chance to compare the two series side by side.TThat is, of course, assuming that in the future, The Crew continues to head in the same direction as The Crew Motorfest, which I reviewed today. In my opinion, this is the right path for the franchise to take going forward. Eight and a half out of ten.

Shovel Knight Dig isn't a bad game; at most, it's slightly redundant. This generally successful adaptation of a well-known franchise to a new format is held back by a lack of innovation and a few missteps in terms of game design. If you’re a huge fan of the rogue-lite genre and/or the Shovel Knight series, you’ll have plenty of fun… but otherwise, at least in this genre, there are better options to choose from.

Ship Graveyard Simulator 2 is a relaxing simulator that isn’t exactly a revolutionary leap forward, but it’s still entertaining. The game’s minor flaws aren’t anything major that would detract from it in any way. At the time of writing this review, there was an update that made the game completely unplayable, so I’m only rating it up to patch 1.0.4. If the developers can fix the issue, you’ve got a laid-back simulator here where, for a slightly higher price, you can relax with a hammer “in hand.”

I have to say, Ad Infinitum really surprised me. A horror game set in the trenches of World War I is something incredibly intriguing. It reminded me of an old classic called NecroVision. What scared me the most in the game were my own footsteps and the wind howling through the trenches. Sometimes I’d hum along to the record player to help me push through Paul’s nightmares. A few of the great jump scares nearly gave me a heart attack. I definitely recommend this original game to you.
