Even with the odd decision to reboot the series again, there is so much for MK loyalists to look forward to, with its single-player modes, intense matches, achieving big kombos, experimenting with Kameos, taking the fights online, and even more kontent on the way. MK fans, both new and old, as well as fans of other fighting games, will find a lot to enjoy in the latest entry by NetherRealm Studios.
Everything the game has to offer, and the 40 plus songs available with even more on the way, offers so much variety with plenty of replay value, whether playing solo, with friends, or online. The time has come to once again gather your amigos, get the party started, and get things shaking with Samba de Amigo: Party Central!
Moving Out 2 delivers all the fun seen in the original and packs in so much more. Hours upon hours of furniture-moving mayhem will be had and players will be coming back for extra loads of it.
The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood has a lot of things going for it. For me, it was a mixed bag but ultimately not delivering to my expectations. With beautiful music, pleasant graphics, an interesting story, and my fondness for Abramar it just wasn’t enough. The emotional impact I was preparing myself for never arrived, either that or I’m just dead inside.
While I don’t play too many horror games I did like this one, but being a little impatient getting stuck on some puzzles sort of ruined the emersions and pacing of the game. I felt like when there was urgency that’s when the game truly shines. There are two endings to unlock which makes it replayable which is good as it can take seven to ten hours to get through it. Worth a look if you are a horror fan and at a reasonable price to boot I think give it a shot if you have the chance.
Running Fable has taken the concept of kart racing games but made it slower and shorter. With children being the targeted audience, it does not really have a difficulty setting and can be finished quickly, but it feels like there is no reward for winning – you just unlock a decorative item, but it’s something everyone gets. If you were able to change the colour of them, atleast you would be able to stand out a bit more.
Atlas Fallen is an amazing adventure to be tackled, either solo or with a friend, turning the tide of battle and fighting back against the monsters of the land and becoming more powerful with each victory. Honestly, there are not many negatives I can think of with Atlas Fallen. It has been another great release during a great year for games. I have loved every second I have spent exploring the world and all the fights I have encountered. If you are looking for a great action adventure RPG to play, this is highly worth checking out.
It’ll be interesting to see what other beat ’em ups get the modern retro treatment, maybe ‘Golden Axe’ or ‘Final Fight’? For now though, it’s time for the Dragons to rise from the ashes and beat down the streets once again, with hours upon hours of old-school couch co-op fun and soon, online as well. Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons is the long overdue modern classic that fans have been waiting for.
The term “simplicity is key” perfectly describes Side Decide. Anyone looking for a way to just relax, unwind, keep the mind sharp, and just take a load off, Side Decide is the perfect game for exactly that, thanks to the folks at homegrown studio, Blue Volcano.
Even if the graphics couldn’t match what the PC can achieve, there were still plenty of opportunities to capitalise on the Switch’s unique control features, but instead feels like a lazy port and pale imitation of a fun PC game. Car Detailing Simulator on Nintendo Switch can be fun for a little while, but there are far better alternatives on PC and even mobile devices.
It allows players to experience each game in its purest form, or play them under unique conditions providing whole new challenges. It somehow reinvents the timeless classics without compromising what made them huge sellers in the first place.
Hello Neighbour 2 offers a great puzzle threat experience with a dark story that will be expanded on with in-game events, and if you buy the Deluxe Edition, you will also have two extra missions set in a high school and the local library, making it the ideal purchase for fans of the franchise. I really enjoyed my time with the game and will be replaying it a lot. It is available now on PC, PS4 & 5, Xbox One, Series S & X, and it is also included on Gamepass and Xbox Cloud Gaming Service.
Need For Speed Unbound doesn’t try to do anything too different, but instead, takes some of the gameplay mechanics that made the last few titles stand out and build upon them, slowly taking the series back to its glory days. If you enjoyed the last few titles and grew up with the older games, you’re going to have a fun time with Need For Speed Unbound.
Knights Of Honour 2: Sovereign is a game that takes patients and a strategic mind, a dash of luck would not go astray either. You will make bad decisions that could just about bring your whole kingdom crumbling to your feet, and if that happens just try again. Just beware however you will need time to play this, either a lot at once or in short intervals over a long time, this isn’t a quick skirmish and the games one this is a long term, put plans in motion and prepare for a long winter type of game. Yes, you can still just play for the fun of it, though with friends would make that easier and more enjoyable. For the hard-core strategist, this game will show you just how good you are and will make anyone who loves that sort of competitive aspect or challenge to their skill giddy with excitement.
For anyone even remotely interested in puzzles, mystery, and an engrossing deck-building card game, Inscyption is a must-have title for the Nintendo Switch. The very nature that rouge-like games offer re-playability in itself, and it made my last few days with this game hard to put down. I took my Switch with me everywhere I went for a few quick hits before I could immerse myself fully when I got home.
Veteran WoW players will be happy to see that professions have also had a rework, now holding some new crafting systems for quality and making the user stand out more. Certain jobs, such as Blacksmiths, can now craft better quality gear with bonuses, and if they stick with it, will find themselves in demand. The same can be said for any jobs that produce items to sell, like potions and cloth gear.
From its character models to the futuristic sci-fi scenery I was pleasantly surprised throughout, even though I played on performance mode for that extra smooth gameplay I didn’t experience too many dips in frames and it still looked amazing. However, for the people who love that crisp image and don’t mind a lower framerate which appears to sit at a solid 30fps. There is a quality mode, giving you that extra fidelity, especially if you have a nice 4k monitor or TV with HDR.
Firaxis Games have used their experience and love of Marvel to create a game that has greatly exceeded my expectations, and the XCOM-style gameplay only enhances the experience. The chances are you’ll be able to team up with your favourite Marvel hero, and Marvel’s Midnight Suns is the perfect way to experience this.
A relaxed game won’t be found here. You’re signing up for a full workout from the moment you hit play. Kicking, dipping, and waving arms are a must, and if you want to mix up your aerobic exercise, Just Dance has got you sorted. I often get bored with my usual gym trips so being able to play a video game, be indoors, and get a workout in is perfect. It’s very easy to work up a sweat and my arms hurt by the end of the first track, “Can’t Stop the Feeling,” and I couldn’t stop the feeling of pain in my muscles.
Garfield’s Lasagna Party can be a fun little game to enjoy with the young ones in your family, although I might recommend waiting for it to go on special. It would most likely be a game you only pick up once in a while because it can be very repetitive, so you’ll possibly find yourself putting it down after an hour or 2.
