Destructoid's Reviews

Impressive efforts with a few noticeable problems holding them back. Won't astound everyone, but is worth your time and cash.

Solid and definitely has an audience. There could be some hard-to-ignore faults, but the experience is fun.

An Exercise in apathy, neither solid nor liquid. Not exactly bad, but not very good either. Just a bit 'meh,' really.

Slightly above average or simply inoffensive. Fans of the genre should enjoy them a bit, but a fair few will be left unfulfilled.

Simply put, Street Fighter 6 is one of the very best entries in series history.

8 / 10.0 - Diablo IV
May 30, 2023

For series fans, Diablo 4 makes a compelling case to become your next main game. For everyone else, the specter of cosmetic microtransactions and live service elements hang heavy over this refined action-RPG formula. Fortunately, the game is strong enough out of the box to entertain anyone willing to dive into its world. Everything I played of Diablo 4 was solid, I just hope it stays that way.

A hallmark of excellence. There may be flaws, but they are negligible and won't cause massive damage.

9 / 10.0 - Fight'N Rage
May 19, 2023

Six years on from its initial release, Fight’N Rage retains its reputation as one of the greatest beat-’em-ups ever made, as well as a testament to the magnificent talent of its two-person development team. While its vulgar, neon nightmare visuals won’t be to everyone’s taste, and its rock-solid challenge is not to be denied, Fight’N Rage stands above many of its contemporaries as a lesson in retrofuturistic game design, bolstered by the power of a screaming guitar and a well-placed roundhouse.

I loved nearly every minute of Tears of the Kingdom. From zooming up into the sky to spelunking in the depths, there’s way more to explore here, and I feel like I haven’t even scratched the surface outside of the main story and some key sidequests. But the real kicker that helps separate Tears from Breath of the Wild is its big swing power set. I felt like I was in control at all times, and had the ability to create my own path. For a series known for sequence-breaking that’s not just a perk; it’s a strong argument for why Tears of the Kingdom will be talked about for years on end, and may even top some favorite Zelda lists.

5 / 10.0 - Redfall
May 8, 2023

I really spent most of my time playing Redfall thinking about what else Redfall could have been. I like that Arkane tried something new, and I’m bummed it came out like this. It’s a really unique premise and concept in its first bite, but its fangs don’t leave a lasting mark.

Have some high points, but they soon give way to glaring faults. Not the worst, but difficult to recommend.
