Let's help Wilmot decorate all the walls of his house by solving puzzles and hanging them in the rooms! In addition to the curious movement system (the player controls Wilmot, the smiling square, telling him which pieces to collect, drag and join), Wilmot Works It Out stands out for its mixed puzzle mechanics: the postmistress always delivers us a few more or fewer pieces, so we first have to work out which pictures we can reconstruct and which ones will have to wait for the next deliveries, as we are missing a few pieces. The game is long-lived (about eight hours to finish the ‘story mode’) and relaxing. Nothing too difficult, but entertaining.

Slay The Princess: The Pristine Cut brings the visual horror novel to consoles, but that's not all: thanks to new avenues to explore and the Italian translation of the texts, grinding out game after game to unlock never-before-seen outcomes has never been so satisfying. This original title can last three hours, or much longer. To kill or not to kill? Investigate the mysterious voices accompanying the hero or just follow orders? Save the princess or give free rein to violence? It is up to the player to choose who to be and who to become, and if you are not satisfied... just select ‘New Game’!

The Smurfs: Dreams is a perfect game for the little ones, but one that doesn't disdain entertaining those with a few years on their shoulders and looking for a relaxing and laid-back adventure. Gargamel is warned: trapping the Smurfs in a seemingly endless sleep was not a good idea, because anything can happen in dreams...

PlayStation's China Hero Project worked this time. AWAKEN - Astral Blade is a fun and satisfying metroidvania that, at a more than affordable price, manages to deliver a streamlined and straightforward adventure that is also artistically valuable.

Super Mario Party Jamboree is a majestic title, the best in the series among those released on Switch, and a symbol of a Nintendo that wants to experiment and amaze again and again. We are probably facing the first chapter of a new course for the saga, a bit like Bowser's Fury and Super Mario Bros: Wonder were. The basis of a great future, if Nintendo is able to replicate itself.

Squirrel with a Gun is a game designed to make the player smile using the irony typical of no-nonsense memes. From this point of view, the experiment is successful thanks to some very funny scenes, which, however, in some cases, border on the grotesque. Unfortunately, the outline gameplay does not support the basic idea in the right way, despite some interesting cues.

Rogue Flight convinces, albeit with some technical imperfections. Truant Pixel wanted to give users an old-school title that thrills players like it used to, and we must say that it has succeeded.

Although there are no real innovations in Just Dance on the concept side, which remains the same as in recent years, this one always proves to be solid and allows us to have on our hands a product that never disappoints and manages to fall into the good graces of fans, who will certainly appreciate this chapter as well.

Starship Troopers: Extermination is a co-operative shooter developed by Offworld Industries, inspired by the Starship Troopers universe. Announced in 2022 and officially launched in October 2024, the game is reminiscent of the 1997 film, but is closer to the militaristic and dark atmosphere of Heinlein's novel. Players, divided into different classes such as Guardian, Sniper and Engineer, must work together to defend human colonies from waves of alien Arachnids by gathering resources and building strategic defences. Each game requires careful co-operation and strategic planning, with the goal of holding out as long as possible before reaching the extraction point. The progression system allows you to unlock new weapons and skills, while the difficulty increases as the Arachnids become more numerous and aggressive. However, the game suffers from technical problems, including frame rate dips, crashes, and lacklustre insect animations, which undermine the experience. Despite the critical issues, the core of the game remains addictive, with a strong emphasis on fast-paced action and cooperation between players.

Drova: Forsaken Kin is a good homage to the RPGs of the past. The Just2D title succeeds in engaging eyes and hearts thanks to an excellent art department and an addictive and complex gameplay. Although some flaws of unbalance and poor quality of life do not allow it to reach the pinnacles of the rating, the German title is more than recommended for veterans of games like Gothic or Baldur's Gate.

The remake of the 2001 horror masterpiece is one of the best games released this year. As a survival horror we are faced with an excellent title, which still turns out to be good (although not perfect) in its remake nature.

After Gris, Nomada Studio tries again with Neva, another short video game experience that reminds us why video games are, in all respects, a form of art. A true pearl as regards the artistic direction, between oriental landscapes and a highly refined audio section, but also a title with simple and solid gameplay, suitable for all ages and all gamers. It's difficult not to be moved and not to be carried away. A handful of hours of pure poetry.

Nikoderiko: The Magical World must first of all be appreciated for the courage of wanting to bring an increasingly less covered genre to the foreground, namely the platformer. Unfortunately, in this respect, the guys at VEA Games did not pay due attention to the gameplay mechanics: gliding instead of the double jump and an overly generous sliding attack do not allow the title to rise to higher ratings, while still remaining a experience to give a chance.

Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred is an expansion that brings more than a breath of fresh air to Blizzard's hack ‘n slash. Admittedly, many of the new features come from the previous season's updates, but the solid base has been supplemented with some well-crafted innovations, the most important of which is the Spiritist. The new class enjoys exciting gameplay and animations, and is a lot of fun to use. We are left with some questions about the direction Blizzard wants to take: what is Diablo IV for the US development house? A hack ‘n slash or an MMO? It is time to make a clear decision.

Undoubtedly, the package is designed for those who have never been able to enjoy the original works, as well as for fans of titles with the famous Danish bricks as protagonists. For everyone else, the product may not be very appealing, all the more so when compared to current LEGO productions, from which the wizardry necessarily differs in its mechanics and general offering.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero represents the definitive title in the saga created by Akira Toriyama. The work done by Spike Chunsoft is truly remarkable, bringing to light a project designed to entertain all fans of the series, allowing them to simulate the epic clashes of the anime thanks to a three-dimensional structure and a vast roster. All this is topped off by sufficiently technical gameplay that allows for dynamic and unpredictable matches. Of course we are not at the levels of other fighting games (Tekken 8, Street Fighter 6 or Dragon Ball: FighterZ itself) but on the other hand the aim of Sparking! Zero is not to have gameplay aimed at the competitive side.

The Patrick Star Game is an open-world adventure designed primarily for children, developed by PHL Collective and published by Outright Games. The game is set in the SpongeBob SquarePants universe and puts Patrick Star at the centre of the action, offering a chaotic and fun experience full of humour typical of the series. Visually colourful and with an attention to detail, the title captures the carefree atmosphere of Bikini Bottom, accompanied by a playful soundtrack and original voices. However, the gameplay, while offering challenges and mini-games, can be repetitive with an unstructured progression. The physics engine is a key element, but not without flaws. Nevertheless, younger gamers will appreciate the freedom it offers and the chaos that comes with it, making The Patrick Star Game an accessible and fun product for its target audience.

The updated version of Predator: Hunting Grounds features the same formula as its counterpart that originally arrived on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The improvements made mainly concern the graphical and technical components, while maintaining almost identical gameplay. That said, the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions are a worthwhile purchase for fans of the film series. Those who have already tried the original title, however, will not see so many changes as to justify the purchase on current gen.

Until Dawn entertained in 2015, it entertains today in the same way. Despite a sometimes naive script and an all-too-intelligible plot, it's a narrative game with the right pace, based on well-curated atmospheres and an excellent cast. The usual problems remain, but Supermassive's title returns today in a remake that refreshes the experience graphically, offering even more expressive character models and striking lighting effects. It is, however, a familiar story, which may not be worth the expense if you expect substantial changes pad in hand. If, on the other hand, you are not familiar with this title (and maybe looking for something to do with friends on Halloween), go ahead and buy it without delay!

Dandy Ace perfectly embodies the typical mechanisms of roguelites, focusing on direct, fun and captivating gameplay. The combinations that can be made through the numerous cards present push one to vary one's approach to the adventure more and more. The only pity is a not always excellent artistic compartment and a mechanic that gives too much incentive to skip portions of the game, distorting the genre.
