Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake is a product that partially succeeds in its intent. As much as the technical and artistic realisation fully hits the mark, the guys at Artdink have limited themselves to smoothing out only a few corners of the original production, while leaving some now archaic interaction mechanics. Fans of old-school RPGs will therefore be more than satisfied with the work done, on the contrary probably to neophytes.

LEGO Horizon Adventures is a title that manages to thrill and engage, but could have dared more. The Guerrilla and Studio Gobo production does indeed enjoy entertaining gameplay, which however clashes with an unfulfilling amount of content, both in the levels and in the side activities. The title is therefore recommended to those who adore Aloy's IP and to gamers looking for a straightforward and no-frills experience, even better if in company.

[REDACTED] is an addictive game. The inspiration taken from Hades has not annihilated the personality of the Striking Distance Studio production, which is fun and well characterised. The only pity is a not too thorough balancing of the weapons and a not impeccable level design, which do not allow it to reach the Olympus of roguelites.

The Horizon: Zero Dawn Remastered is an operation that fits without too many problems into the current gaming landscape. The efforts made by Nixxes Software and Guerrilla field a renewed and improved production in all respects, and one that is capable of being appreciated by every section of the audience. Owners of the PS4 formula can upgrade at a more than affordable cost (remember that the old version can easily be played in backward compatibility), while newcomers now have the chance to enjoy a complete package in step with the times.

MetroLand is a pleasant and immediate endless runner that combines easy gameplay with a good progression system. Killo's work therefore manages to entertain without too many compromises, even if the repetitiveness inherent in the genre is a perennial sword of Damocles.

PlayStation's China Hero Project worked this time. AWAKEN - Astral Blade is a fun and satisfying metroidvania that, at a more than affordable price, manages to deliver a streamlined and straightforward adventure that is also artistically valuable.

Drova: Forsaken Kin is a good homage to the RPGs of the past. The Just2D title succeeds in engaging eyes and hearts thanks to an excellent art department and an addictive and complex gameplay. Although some flaws of unbalance and poor quality of life do not allow it to reach the pinnacles of the rating, the German title is more than recommended for veterans of games like Gothic or Baldur's Gate.

Nikoderiko: The Magical World must first of all be appreciated for the courage of wanting to bring an increasingly less covered genre to the foreground, namely the platformer. Unfortunately, in this respect, the guys at VEA Games did not pay due attention to the gameplay mechanics: gliding instead of the double jump and an overly generous sliding attack do not allow the title to rise to higher ratings, while still remaining a experience to give a chance.

Undoubtedly, the package is designed for those who have never been able to enjoy the original works, as well as for fans of titles with the famous Danish bricks as protagonists. For everyone else, the product may not be very appealing, all the more so when compared to current LEGO productions, from which the wizardry necessarily differs in its mechanics and general offering.

Dandy Ace perfectly embodies the typical mechanisms of roguelites, focusing on direct, fun and captivating gameplay. The combinations that can be made through the numerous cards present push one to vary one's approach to the adventure more and more. The only pity is a not always excellent artistic compartment and a mechanic that gives too much incentive to skip portions of the game, distorting the genre.

Funko Fusion had enormous potential. The numerous licences, coupled with the experience of the former Traveller's Tales developers, promised to deliver a game that was both impressive and above all fun. However, the current technical problems and not-so-satisfying gameplay relegated it to oblivion, justifying its purchase only to those who are strong fans of the brands included in the work.

Astro didn't just save the ship's passengers but also PlayStation 2024. The work signed by Team Asobi is indeed a true demonstration of love for the Sony brand and for those looking for a fun and engaging platformer (all the more so if you have a good video game history memory). The only ones who might turn their noses up at it are those who demand a significant degree of difficulty from a platform game. Nevertheless, in our opinion Astro Bot is a must-buy for all PS5 owners.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is a fun, straightforward and no-frills game. Saber Interactive's new effort has a play offering that focuses on multiplayer, but manages to satisfy those who like to interact alone. A few minor technical and artistic flaws, coupled with maps that are perhaps too large for the genre do not allow it to aspire to higher thrones, but the experience packaged by the US studio deserves to be tried by TPS lovers, all the more so if with the possibility of tackling it together with two friends.

Star Wars Outlaws is a work full of lights and shadows. While on the one hand we have a satisfying gunplay and a good progression system, united by a good amount of activities to be carried out, on the other hand there are evident graphical limitations that do nothing more than demonstrate how Massive would perhaps have needed more time to finalise the product at its best, all the more so for fans of the franchise and for the fact that the software is only proposed on current generation consoles. The Ubisoft game is therefore appreciable, but still far from the promised Olympus.

CYGNI: All Guns Blazing is the answer to the prayers of many nostalgics who complain about the lack of challenge in modern games. Konami and KeelWorks' bullet hell is ruthless and punishing, and as much as such features may appeal to some, it inevitably cuts off many others, who may be gripped by utter frustration after a few minutes. So if you want to play a complex but satisfying title without spending an insane amount of money, CYGNI: All Guns Blazing is the product for you.

Cat Quest 3 has accomplished its feat, managing to breathe new life into a franchise that may have run out of steam. The addition of the ship, firearms and some general adjustments allows The Gentlebros' IP to be a fun experience that doesn't want to require much effort from the player.

It is said that he who is born round does not die square. This is the perfect summary of the remaster of Star Wars: Bounty Hunter. In spite of the good work done by Aspyr, the conceptual shortcomings of the original work all manifest themselves 22 years after its release, relegating the operation solely to fans.

The Mortuary Assistant is a horror title with an interesting and original concept that, given also the programming done by a single person, deserves a chance by fans of the genre. Unfortunately, the price to pay is a tangible repetitiveness of the actions and a less than excellent art section.

Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is an appreciable roguelite that attempts to gather all Hades fans now waiting for the second chapter, due next year. Super Evil Megacorp's latest endeavour, however, is a production that struggles to stand out qualitatively, mainly due to a shaky technical compartment and a difficulty set too low, all the more so when played in co-op.

Conscript is a rare indie gem in the survival horror genre. Jordan Mochi's debut work aims to portray in videogames the terror of war and the inner battles of the soldiers who are unfortunately forced to live through it. With straightforward (but punishing) gameplay and an over-the-top artistic component, Conscript is an experience that deserves to be enjoyed by all fans of the genre.
