8 / 10.0 - Evil West
Mar 24, 2024

Evil West doesn’t bring significant innovations and has its issues, but it excels in fulfilling what games are meant to do: provide fun for the player. Its combat is extremely satisfying and filled with challenging moments, and when combined with the charismatic characters encountered throughout the campaign, it results in a simple yet enjoyable formula. While it may lack polish in some areas, the overall experience is solid.

9 / 10.0 - Phantom Dust
Feb 28, 2024

The final verdict, after all this, is quite clear: we have here one of the hidden gems of the original Xbox. Its concepts make it a completely unique game, an experience that, unfortunately, no one has managed to replicate to this day. Phantom Dust excels in almost every aspect and offers an experience far ahead of its time. Microsoft has a gem in its hands that just needs a little care to shine once more.

Arzette is proof that anything can serve as inspiration, even if that inspiration comes from one of the worst games in the history of one of the most respected video game franchises. A meme that turned into a fun and charming game. It left me wanting more, and I eagerly await a sequel in the future.

Voodoo Vince is a game that everyone should play, especially if you enjoy sandbox platformers or collectathons. Whether you choose the remastered version or the original, you’ll definitely have a great time.

Notice that Suicide Squad constantly found its balance points: the story is simple, but the characters are incredibly well-crafted. The graphics aren’t impressive, but the facial expressions are outstanding. The gameplay gets tiresome over time, but it’s fun. In the end, the game that seemed destined to be a disaster turned out to be a good experience. I believe that without the GaaS model, with a less repetitive gameplay structure and a more tightly written story, Suicide Squad could have reached greater heights. However, the final result was still positive.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth represents a new milestone for the franchise, combining classic elements with modern innovations to create an experience that feels both familiar and fresh. With its deep storytelling, expansive world, and refined gameplay mechanics, the title solidifies its place as one of the best RPGs of its generation. Whether you’re a longtime fan or a new player, Rebirth offers an unforgettable journey that’s worth embarking on (though you may want to wait for the PC version).

3 / 10.0 - Redfall
May 4, 2023

Knowing the Dishonored and Prey franchises, my expectations for Redfall were high, but unfortunately, they were not met. The empty story, graphical issues, completely dysfunctional AI, bugs, and lack of optimization undermined my trust in Arkane, a studio I had always trusted completely. Even if fixes are implemented throughout Redfall's lifespan, the game's fundamental issues will remain. Moreover, it's important to highlight that, despite being available on Game Pass, the R$350 price tag for purchasing the game is significant. This is the first time in its history that Arkane has failed so disastrously.

7.5 / 10.0 - Kao the Kangaroo
May 8, 2022

Kao the Kangaroo probably won't be remembered as a classic in a few years, but it was worth the experience and is recommended for anyone looking for a good 3D platform game to pass the time while relieving themselves of the routine stress of everyday life.

8 / 10.0 - Far Cry 5
May 31, 2018

Far Cry 5 is unbridled fun, just the right amount of over-the-top and technically solid. It's not revolutionary, but it's one of the most complete chapters in the series. It's worth it for those looking for action, chaos and freedom in generous doses.

If you liked the series as it was, rest assured: Scribblenauts Showdown is still fun. There are a few issues with the controls, but becoming a “party game” for all types of audiences, ages, and family members was a wise decision that greatly improved the brand’s accessibility.

Even though there are many people who don't like the original anime, Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet does a good job of being a quality game that can please even those people. Beautiful graphics, good relationship systems, interesting combat. There are many good points here, compared to the few flaws. Overall, it's a good game based on a popular anime, so everyone wins.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Knights Of Britannia is a fun game, with its problems and good features, but it's only for fans. It's going to be hard to attract anyone outside the fandom with this title. Maybe when the anime is even better known. Still, for a first attempt, Bandai Namco did a good job.

9 / 10.0 - Celeste
Mar 16, 2018

Celeste is another small work that mixes fun and difficulty with a good dose of creativity. The game teaches you good lessons about what game design is, with refined controls, well-presented retro visuals, and very well-thought-out scenarios for the challenge that it is. One of the little secret gems available on consoles and PCs.

It's strange to note that some Switch releases have been "random", but it's heartwarming to see that games that we never dreamed would come out on the device are, in fact, being released. Payday 2 is a great example of this. The conversion is good, comes with relevant extras and works very well online. It's a great title for those who don't want to miss out on another "adult" game on Nintendo's console.

Even though it's not the prettiest, the Skyrim port for Switch is incredible and worth your investment. The game has all the downloadable content released in previous editions and promises almost endless playthroughs, given its dynamic quest system. It's true that we don't have mods or other content aimed at the PC version, but if you've never played Skyrim before, this is a great opportunity.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is really good. It's the only fighting game out there that can appeal to all types of audiences, even those who don't like fighting games or Dragon Ball – believe me. It's fast-paced, beautiful and easy to learn. If that wasn't enough, there are also many extras and fun modes. The only exception, perhaps, is the story mode, which is a bit boring and too tiring over time. Still, it's a great title and, from now on, a candidate for the best of the year.

Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory does its homework for fans of the series. It has several references, familiar creatures and classic systems from the series. However, there is no sense of novelty or even appeal to attract a new audience. And without this new audience, the saga may end sooner than we expect.

Ultimately, Need for Speed Payback lacks charisma and identity. The game doesn't know what it wants to be and this is detrimental to the experience. It helps the player get familiar with the story, but it doesn't have any memorable characters. It leaves you with a huge map to explore, but it's full of grind and unfair progression. There are fun elements, like the sharp driving and the fun of completing the missions, but that's really all there is to it.

8.5 / 10.0 - Doom (2016)
Jan 16, 2018

In terms of story, content and action, there’s not much to say – it’s the same DOOM we know and have come to love on other devices. The visuals aren’t as good as they used to be, but they’re competent and show what the Switch is capable of. The controls are awkward, but there’s an ideal setup for every player. Ultimately, it’s always good to have a game like this on such an unlikely console. Showing that there are no barriers for Nintendo’s new “little wonder”.

6.5 / 10.0 - Sonic Forces
Dec 20, 2017

Ultimately, Sonic Forces is a game that may not be for you. Despite the poor gameplay, kids should enjoy it. In addition, the game has light themes and tells the story through animated scenes that are reminiscent of the Sonic Boom cartoon. The appeal here is strong, not to mention the creation of personalized heroes by the player. If you have kids around, get involved.
