Matheus Jenevain's Reviews

A writer of unspecified age and exceptional skill (according to himself, believe it or not). Enjoys Metroidvanias, RPGs and fighting games. Prays every night, intensely, to receive a remake of God Hand. Has never been answered.

FREEDOM WARS Remastered was still a joy to play. I'm really glad that titles like it are being revisited, and I hope that other rare Vita gems will fall back into our loving arms.

7.8 / 10.0 - Mark of the Deep
Jan 24, 2025

I found the combat to be quite fun and, despite the low selection of equipment at the beginning, it managed to challenge and engage me in equal measure. I also found it fun to explore and find secrets, even if I did get a little lost at times or didn't really know where I came from or where I should go. These are small things, but they end up making a difference.

Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero manages to bring many iconic ideas from the previous game, such as the confinement system, while also injecting new life and ideas to make the formula even more refined and appealing to the new generation of players.

8.3 / 10.0 - Dead Of Darkness
Jan 17, 2025

The game creates a really cool atmosphere, combined with fun and challenging exploration. In addition, the puzzles and clue system help to differentiate the game from its peers, challenging the player while also keeping them intrigued to discover what lies ahead.

8.3 / 10.0 - Blade Chimera
Jan 15, 2025

Blade Chimera presents itself as a very fun metroidvania, with solid foundations and a good amount of content to explore if the player wishes.

DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS is a respected musou who ranks among the best in the franchise. It maintains the solid foundations we already know, while promoting innovation and opening up space for new directions and styles for a genre that often doesn't tend to innovate much.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance delivers a good RPG experience, mainly due to its mechanics and skills, set in a very cool vision of life in the 15th century. The attention to detail, both in terms of visuals and in the particularities of player-game interaction, was also very good. Among the tears, I can mention that the game takes a long time to load, has a certain complexity in mechanics that may put some players off and it was lacking that subtitle for the crowd.

9.3 / 10.0 - Nine Sols
Jan 2, 2025

Nine Sols is a game that deserves our attention, regardless of whether we already enjoy the genres that make it up or not. Everything was done with so much care, and skill I must say, that the title easily manages to captivate and hold us until the end.

I believe that ASTLIBRA Gaiden: The Cave of Phantom Mist is very easy to recommend to everyone. If you don't know the genre, it will be an excellent first rogue to get used to.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl managed to meet many of my expectations. Looking at it in a simplified way, it delivers everything there is to love about the franchise with a series of improvements and modernities that make the experience better as a whole, even if we have a stumble here and there.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was a marvel of an adaptation, as much fun to watch as it was to play and listen to. The gameplay has its issues, like the combat and the excessive effort required to use certain items, and there are those weird perspective transitions. But everything is done with such care, and with such honor to the original work, that it's easy to forget about it.

SWORD ART ONLINE Fractured Daydream was an experience of ups and downs for me. I really enjoyed the main idea of the game, both for showing an original plot that pleases veterans, while also introducing the universe to newcomers, and for the simple and fun combat. [...] However, I think that the repetitive nature of the game, greatly encouraged by the monetization model they used, can make the experience a little draggy at times.

7.6 / 10.0 - FAIRY TAIL 2

FAIRY TAIL 2 was an interesting experience for me, for several reasons. However, I think the game still lacks in some essential points that prevent it from being a truly exceptional experience.

7.3 / 10.0 - Farmagia
Nov 30, 2024

I must say, readers, that I enjoyed my time with Farmagia. However, I was left with that permanent feeling that the title oversimplified things that, in fact, could be explored in more depth.

8 / 10.0 - Astral Flux
Nov 10, 2024

Anima Flux has come up with a very interesting proposal, readers, to add a new layer of complexity to a genre that has become increasingly popular. The idea of including co-op is very good, and I believe that the game lays solid foundations to make the experience even better in future iterations.

Nov 8, 2024

Although the game is beautiful and the premise is cool, in addition to the idea of exploring the air and being the bosses of our own crew, the dullness of several moments in the game, the bugs, the difficulties in controlling and the repetitiveness of the combat - in addition to its slowness and simplicity - end up making the title much less enjoyable than it should, and could, be.

6.8 / 10.0 - Tinkertown
Nov 4, 2024

I have to say that Tinkertown didn't quite hit the targets it aimed for. Although the title has its moments of comfort and joy, a series of small, somewhat strange design decisions and other structural issues prevent the game from reaching its full potential, which, to be honest, exists in abundance.
