Don't get me wrong, this table is not bad. Should you own it if you are a big Zen Pinball player? Of course. It is well worth the three bucks, but when I compare this to the other tables Zen Pinball has released recently, it just feels slightly lackluster. Nevertheless, fans of the Zen Pinball franchise should look into Age of Ultron. It's not bad, just not a big standout from the other tables released on the platform.

Technical things aside, this is one rather impressive game when you get to the bottom of it. Zombie fans both in action and in strategy will find a decent time here. Just remember, the camera will fight you, and some glitches will pop up, but if you can make it through that, it is one unique zombie game.

With the enemy placement changed, it really does offer a newer challenge to veteran players, and while the double weapon degradation is really, really annoying, it can be managed. It's just going to take a lot of backtracking.

There's a lot in this little 3DS game that can keep you busy for tons of hours. Just keep in mind, it is a difficult game and it doesn't apologize for it, but if you can get past the learning curve, it becomes a very rewarding experience that dungeon crawling fans will really enjoy – even if the AI can be dumb as bricks at times.

8.5 / 10.0 - Toukiden: Kiwami
Apr 9, 2015

Toukiden is a fine game that monster hunting game fans will enjoy even without the depth they may be used to. This is also a great introduction to the genre for players not familiar with Monster Hunter. I say give this a shot, it's pretty great especially with some friends.

5.5 / 10.0 - Paperbound

For ten dollars you get a game that really is just a multiplayer game that you can only enjoy with friends at your house. For some that could be a bit of an undertaking in and of itself. But if you can get three friends to play with you, you can have a decent time with it.

I am genuinely excited to see what happens next, and after seeing how episode two plays out, I think people looking for an interesting story should take a look at this series.

Fans of Borderlands should pick this up, and people that jumped on the new console bandwagon and missed out on The Pre-Sequel now have a way to play it. Even if it has some issues here and there, it's still fun. This package is a steal.

Code Name S.T.E.A.M. is a decent action strategy game. It has the makings of a great game in the same vein as Valkryria Chronicles, and while it is executed in a fairly clunky way, I still had a decent time with it.

For fans of the series, there's a lot more Hotline Miami to play here and it still has its moments. For newcomers or people that didn't get into the first game, it may be a difficult one to get on board with.

8.5 / 10.0 - Hand of Fate
Mar 5, 2015

With a rough play time of 11 hours for the full story mode and an endless mode that can last even longer, for 20 bucks it's a pretty great deal for adventure fans and RPG players. I highly suggest picking Hand of Fate up.

4.5 / 10.0 - Aaru's Awakening
Mar 4, 2015

[M]any could say I just suck at the game, and I would agree with you, but I know my way around a platformer, and Aaru's Awakening has the makings of a good one, but is bogged down by poorly implemented controls and some choice level design. Only the hardcore of players will get into it, and even then they will have controller breaking thoughts while playing it.

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy + is never an offensive game. I actually enjoyed much of my time with it. Especially finding out it wasn't as complex as I had imagined the series to be, but in that same vein, maybe it should have been a bit more complex. After hitting the two hour mark, I seemed to have seen everything the game had to offer as far a variety, and the new additions to the game don't seem to be enough to get people to double dip and purchase it again.

In the grand scheme of things, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is still very much a Monster Hunter game. What makes it stand out are the tweaks to progression. It really is the most accessible game in the series.

Fans of the Telltale adventure games and people looking for something unique in terms of storytelling and mechanics should really give Life is Strange a shot. It sets up a decent premise and keeps the player invested for the 3 hour duration of the episode. I for one enjoyed what I played, even when the dialog became "too hip" for me. I say give it a shot. It most certainly is something very different.

8.5 / 10.0 - Deathtrap

It may get difficult, but partying up with some friends and leveling up can combat that. For 20 bucks, you really can't go wrong with Deathtrap. I highly recommend it.

Unmechanical took me by surprise. Sure, we've all seen 2.5D puzzle games before, but this one really did a great job with the variety of the puzzles while keeping the main game simplistic enough to never keep me guessing for too long. The pacing is fantastic and the visual style is superb. While it may be on the short side, I still highly recommend picking up Unmechanical Extended. Like me, you may have a really fun time with it.

7 / 10.0 - Funk of Titans
Jan 7, 2015

Of course, it's not going to blow anyone's socks off, but it's not a bad game either. If you're looking for a fun distraction for about 4 hours and have nine bucks to spare, give it a shot. You may actually have a fun time like I did.

8 / 10.0 - The Crew
Dec 16, 2014

I know many people have been skeptical of The Crew, and after playing it, I have no issues. Just exploring the world was a blast for me. My time spent with the game was very enjoyable, and with some friends it is even more fun. It has a few issues, but The Crew is a fun game with an action movie story that I think many will enjoy especially in co-op.

Even with a more minimal story, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are still solid Pokémon games, and even very good turn-based RPGs. There's no denying the fact that these games require thought and strategy to beat, and there's always a ton of things to see and do in them. For Pokémon fans, of course you should pick this up. For people asking "will this get me into the series?" the answer is maybe.
