Lexuzze Tablante's Reviews

Live life at its fullest. In the corners of the game lobby, Lex stares at the most wonderful thing in the world: video-games.

I did have some fun and enjoyable moments. Although, Ghost Recon Wildlands had potential but it didn’t manage to keep up with the standards of open-world games similar to Watch_Dogs 2 and Grand Theft Auto V. It has too many setbacks that prevents the game from reaching its true potential.

2.5 / 10.0 - Troll and I
Mar 25, 2017

I was greatly disappointed with Troll and I, this is why we should not expect too much. It saddens me.

If you already owned Halo Wars on the Xbox 360 and you own an Xbox One, there is nothing much to justify for buying the Ultimate Edition of Halo Wars 2 if you’re not into the multiplayer side. The improvements weren’t major, it’s technically the same game from the Xbox 360. It was a nice experience gameplay wise, but the story and character development were just disappointing.

9 / 10.0 - Yooka Laylee
Apr 12, 2017

Even if Yooka-Laylee is inspired from Banjo-Kazooie, since ex-Rare developers joined up with Team17, for players who didn’t get to play the aforementioned game will definitely enjoy this Banjo-successor. The worlds you get to explore, the characters you meet, and how visually spectacular the game is, Yooka-Laylee is a platformer that you don’t want to miss.

Little Nightmares gives you what a platformer game needs to be. I enjoyed every bit of its level design and its creepiness. There’s nothing more I can say about Tarsier Studios latest title – it’s a nightmare you probably would love to spend your whole night in.

Skylar & Plux misses a lot of great opportunities that would have made the game great and appeal to most platformer lovers out there, but I do recognize the effort of Right Nice Games for this decent 3D platformer.

4 / 10.0 - Demon's Crystals
May 22, 2017

Demon’s Crystal is another flawed twin-stick shooter and is not even worth your time at all if you want to play this alone. The local multiplayer experience has shed some little hope in Demon’s Crystals, but the lack of online feature makes the game unconvincing unless if you like on-the-couch experience with friends.

7.5 / 10.0 - Butcher
May 23, 2017

Butcher might not be graphically hooking, and it may lack a bit of replay value, but it definitely put some fancy retro side-scroller shooter aside with its entertaining gameplay and gore.

8.5 / 10.0 - RiME
May 30, 2017

In the end, RiME is a beautiful piece and I loved every second I spent in this magical game. It’s an emotional adventure, and that’s what it makes RiME a stunning title despite the performance issues it has.

Cars 3: Driven to Win does have its own merits and can be enjoyed for a short amount of time when playing it alone, and playing it with friends is worthwhile. With the lack of online features, it gets boring and dull and repetitive all throughout when you’ve finished all Skills Check challenges and defeated all 4 bosses. I’d say, Cars 2: The Video Game is still the best one in the series despite it rejecting online play.

I loved the main chapters, but this one was just literally little. While the chase sequences were fun and exciting, it wasn’t the quality I was hoping to get from the DLC. It was a bit shallow, and the direction of this staggered content is a horrible idea if the next 2 chapters will be as short as this.

After Batman Season 1’s finale, I said that it didn’t leave a memorable mark and I hoped that Season 2 will be better. I am happy to say that I was captivated with Batman: The Enemy Within – The Enigma. Despite the mediocre voice acting from Troy Baker (I still prefer Kevin Conroy), the pacing was great and I can’t wait how the story slowly unfolds in the next episode.

6.5 / 10.0 - LawBreakers
Aug 14, 2017

LawBreakers is highly competitive and that's what makes it fun and unique. However, it wards off casual players who are interested to play it. While Overwatch's vibrant colors give that casual feel, LawBreakers is a gloomy and a serious game that appeals to hardcore and competitive players. If Boss Key fixes the overall performance of the game and add more interesting game modes (not another Uplink/Overcharge) then probably I'll play LawBreakers a few more years before I decide to move on.

I gotta hand it to Blizzard though, they made a great remaster and definitely met my expectations. I loved the newly improved multiplayer system and especially the strong community. Despite the lack of improvement with its CGI, StarCraft: Remastered is a remaster done right and it will live another 12 to 13 years before we get a new StarCraft installment.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy might not have been what I expected and my 5 hours and 31 minutes was, surely I won't over exaggerate, decent. It wasn't great, it wasn't phenomenal, and it wasn't the best either but it's a solid and decent cinematic experience for its price.

8.5 / 10.0 - Destiny 2

Destiny 2 might not be a perfect MMO shooter, but it is one engaging experience if you give it chance. Well done Bungie, you never fail to disappoint.

9.5 / 10.0 - Call of Duty: WWII
Nov 5, 2017

To wrap this up, I didn’t expect Call of Duty: WWII to be this spectacular. It’s been a while since we got an emotionally driven narrative World War II game in this caliber based from actual events. Despite the inclusion of loot boxes (or crates/Supply Drops), Sledgehammer Games did an amazing job with Call of Duty: WWII bringing one of the best cinematic experiences in a first-person shooter this year.

Episode 2: The Pact touches the subject of Bruce Wayne entering the criminal world like his father in the past, developing an intimate relationship with John Doe pushes the plot direction to a lot of possibilities in the succeeding events. While The Pact didn’t have a big bang in the ending, I am still exciting for what is to come in Episode 3: The Fractured Mask.

The Frozen Wilds adds more depth to Horizon: Zero Dawn as it also paves the path for a sequel that might be set in a different location that is far from the tribes. This expansion completes the overall formula that Guerrilla Games wanted to do with their latest IP, and with extreme efforts, they turned world of Horizon: Zero Dawn into a whole new level that I had enjoyed deeply.

Star Wars Battlefront II is a complete experience unlike its predecessor. Despite the undelivered single-player campaign in terms of gameplay, the story was grand, magnificent, and well written! And even though it's riddled with microtransactions and loot crates, Star Wars Battlefront II delivered one of the best and smoothest multiplayer experience I've had this year, and I'm certainly satisfied.
