Kevin Tavore's Reviews
V-Rally 4 is a game worth experiencing and Kylotonn Games should be on every racing fan's radar after this release.
PUBG is admittedly a game that's poorly designed in many ways and sometimes even non-functional. It's also admittedly one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had in my entire life.
There are few RPGs I'd dare to call essential, but Divinity: Original Sin 2 stands out among all others as deserving of that accolade. It's undoubtedly one of the best tactical and role-playing experiences you'll ever have on any platform.
If you're looking for a standard Japanese shmup, Defenders of Ekron is going to disappoint, but this Chilean gem offers a nuanced level design that allows it to excel, becoming far better than most of its contemporaries through a revolving door of fun, challenging encounters and enough content to leave you more than content.
Overcooked! 2 is a Michelin Star game. As a co-op experience, there are few games better at bringing together players of different skill levels for some fun.
For fans of Burnout's crash mode and the first Danger Zone, Danger Zone 2 offers more of the same addictive gameplay.
Yet Another Zombie Defense HD is courteously to the point with its title. There's no sarcasm in its description. The game is literally yet another zombie defense game.
NieR: Automata is without a doubt one of the best games of the generation and it's likely going to remain one of my personal favorite games ever.
"ZAMB!" sounds like an exciting pop, but I've come to realize that in this comic book it signals one deadening idea: boredom.
This game couldn't be recommended to anyone and it only earns a score even this high because it is not functionally broken, but that's nothing to be proud of.
City of Brass looks like a beautiful epic straight out of the tales of the Arabian Nights. Instead, it's a dreadful slog designed to avoid everything that makes a roguelite game replayable and fun.
The "Guardian Trials" is a rather timid and safe entry into Super Lucky's Tale's stable of gameplay. The essence of this DLC could be quite fairly distilled down into "more of the same," which is fine if hardly a ringing endorsement.
Ultimately, this is a game that came out of nowhere to take me on a surprise journey I never imagined I'd want to be on and I loved every second of it.
TERA could have been a great MMO. The world is large, beautiful and full of content. The gameplay itself is exciting and fresh, with plenty to offer in terms of depth and accessibility. But TERA on Xbox is not a great MMO. In its current state, it's not even a good one.
These games are classics, and for the most part they still hold up today.
It's nothing more or less than fine.
Monster Hunter: World captures that feel of hunting, and despite its technical quirks and poor design decisions, if you've got a group of friends to play with it comes highly recommended. If you're running solo, you might be better waiting for a sale.
Xuan-Yuan Sword is gaming's homage to a "so good it's bad" B-movie.
If you're looking for deep combat and puzzles in a Zelda style, you'll have to look elsewhere, but for anyone else, Okami offers a rich world that will undoubtedly leave you happy to have been in.
Overall, "A Walk in the Park" is easy to recommend — if you liked The Surge and you want more of it, that's what you'll get here and you're in for a great time at the theme park. If you couldn't get over the issues in The Surge then there's nothing here that's going to change your mind.
