Unscored - Street Fighter 6
May 30, 2023

Launching with a strong and varied roster of fighters and a range of modes that should satisfy most players, Street Fighter 6 is a triumph. The combat here is stronger than it’s ever been, and a serious effort has been made to make this the most accessible and inclusive fighting game yet. We still need to delve a little more into the game’s online offerings to give our full verdict, but based on everything we’ve seen so far, Street Fighter 6 is likely to be one of this year’s highlights for fighting game fans.

Having been in possession of the game for just over 24 hours at the time of writing, we’ve still got a lot to see and do in Sackboy: A Big Adventure – we’ve only reached the second of its worlds so far. At this point though, we can safely say that we’ve thoroughly enjoyed every single minute of it – it’s gone above and beyond our expectations. It appears to be an immaculately made 3D platformer with huge amounts of charm. We’ll follow up with a full review once we’ve put considerably more time into it, but we think it’s safe to say that if you’re picking it up alongside your PS5, you’re going to be in for a very good time.

Succubus With Guns is a terrible game with terrible controls and terrible design. We would have given this a 1/10, but on our scale, that denotes a game that is broken to the point of being unplayable. Unfortunately for all involved, you can play Succubus With Guns. But you absolutely, definitely should not.

There you have it: Autobahn Police Simulator 3 is the worst game we’ve played in some time. It’s definitely the worst PS5 game we’ve ever played, that’s for sure. It’s not even fun in a “this game’s so bad it’s fun” kind of way; the technical issues suck out any joy that might have otherwise been found in the premise. And so, for the love of god, don’t buy it. Just don’t. Find your crime-fighting thrills elsewhere.

Unless Dawn of Fear gets heavily patched after launch, steer well clear of it unless you’re a glutton for punishment or have the patience of a saint.

2 / 10.0 - Fallout 76
Nov 22, 2018

I really hope Fallout 76 is turned around, I really do. I have a lot of respect for Bethesda for publishing quality single player releases such as The Evil Within 2, but Fallout 76 is just dire. It shouldn’t have seen the light of day, and you shouldn’t buy it

It's sterile, incomplete and just broken. It's not entertaining to play even in the slightest.

We were never expecting Greyhill Incident to be amazing, but it falls even short of simply being mediocre. Unfortunately, it’s one of the worst games we’ve played this year. While it manages to create a truly unsettling atmosphere and has some pretty hair-raising scenes, its gameplay is so tedious and frustrating that it kills your desire to progress. And so, those looking for alien-based horror thrills will have to do with the paltry options that are already available for now.

3 / 10.0 - RICO London
Sep 9, 2021

I honestly don’t know what’s happened with RICO London, and I can’t recommended it to anybody, not even ardent RICO fans. It’s an utter failure of a sequel, discarding many features of the original game to deliver something that feels awfully basic. Add on top the technical issues, and you have a game that should be avoided – unless you find the monotony of breaching and clearing rooms ad infinitum strangely compelling.

There’s honestly not really anything good I can say about Fallen Legion Revenants. Messy combat combined with an unwieldy control system means it’s not fun to play. A boring and confusing story prevents you from getting invested in its characters. I don’t think it looks as good as previous games in the series. And its voice acting is unimpressive. I suppose it’s got a decent soundtrack? That’s about as complimentary as I can be. Ultimately, Fallen Legion Revenants is one of the worst games I’ve played in some time. And that’s not a nice thing to write as someone that enjoyed their time with Fallen Legion Flames of Rebellion

Ultimately, G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout is a team-based third-person shooter with poor aiming, atrocious enemy A.I., and no online multiplayer options. That should tell you all you need to know, basically. It’s not the worst game you can buy right now, so if you’re a huge G.I. Joe fan and pick it up on a whim you might have some fun with it. Anyone with more self-control, however, should either wait for it to be deeply discounted, or simply forget it exists. You won’t be missing out on anything worthwhile if you never play it.

Underwhelming visuals and uninspiring mission design stop Fast & Furious Crossroads from being a good game – but it’s the terrible, terrible handling that relegates it into ‘bad’ territory.

Ultimately, Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise just isn’t acceptable in this day and age. There’s simply no reason why a game should perform this badly. Try as you might, it’s hard to thoroughly enjoy something that’s such a technical mess. If you’re a glutton for punishment and want to spend more time with the most bizarre protagonist in video games, go right ahead. But don’t say that you haven’t been warned. It isn’t a blessing, it’s a disappointment.

3 / 10.0 - AeternoBlade II

3 / 10.0 - Left Alive
Mar 14, 2019

As it is though, Left Alive is simply not worth your time or money. It has a fairly interesting story to unravel, but only the most patient and persistent of players will be able to enjoy it, even if they pop the difficulty down to its lowest level

Personally, my girlfriend pointing out that the noise basic grunts make before attacking is comparable to someone motorboating a pair of breasts was the highlight of the game for me. Read into that what you will.

4 / 10.0 - Do Not Open
Nov 28, 2022

It’s debateable whether most players will have the patience and persistence to see Do Not Open through until its end. It’s a shame, because the premise here is interesting, and the puzzles themselves are mostly clever and fun to solve. The entity is its downfall, an ill-conceived obstacle that’s relentless and a little bit broken. Rather than make Do Not Open scary, it makes it needlessly frustrating.
