Critic Reviews for Fallen Legion: Revenants

A third chapter that sticks to its predecessor in every possible way. While Revenants does not lack interesting aspects, it also painfully shows its low budget nature. In particular, confusing combat and poorly delivered story are its most significant flaws.

Fallen Legion: Rise to Glory / Fallen Legion Revenants is the definitive collection of two vexing-yet-solid action RPGs.

At its core, Fallen Legion Revenants is a good game. The ideas, story, and gameplay are all there, it just hinges on you being the type of a person it appeals to. For example, combat can be methodic and slow, though it rewards a tactical mind. The story is fascinating and has a lot to say, though it requires an interest in exploring the world to really get into it. As a result, there is a good chance you'll like Fallen Legion Revenants if you're into RPGs, but you need to fit one of the aforementioned molds to really love it.

A bit messy and not deep enough, Revenants feels like a missed chance for Fallen Legion, but the plot and its characters are intriguing.

There’s honestly not really anything good I can say about Fallen Legion Revenants. Messy combat combined with an unwieldy control system means it’s not fun to play. A boring and confusing story prevents you from getting invested in its characters. I don’t think it looks as good as previous games in the series. And its voice acting is unimpressive. I suppose it’s got a decent soundtrack? That’s about as complimentary as I can be. Ultimately, Fallen Legion Revenants is one of the worst games I’ve played in some time. And that’s not a nice thing to write as someone that enjoyed their time with Fallen Legion Flames of Rebellion

Fallen Legion: The Revenants is a collection of successful and unsuccessful ideas that have not led to a tailored and heart-wrenching combination.

I found myself much less interested in the characters or plot of Fallen Legion Revenants, and it's probably safe to just say I liked everything about this game less than its predecessor. I'm honestly disappointed. If developers YummyYummyTummy announce another Fallen Legion title, I promise they'll get my attention, but I'm going to have to wait a little longer this time before I let myself get excited.

Fallen Legion: Revenants is a fun game with great ideas, but it fails to build on what its concepts promise. The combat is its main feature and the reason to play it, but there's a constant feeling that with small adjustments it could have been much more memorable.
