BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle will fill a gap on the Nintendo Switch catalogue for those looking for 2D fighting games with an anime aesthetic and it's a very welcome return of the BlazBlue series to a Nintendo platform. The game's biggest strengths are its gameplay, which may be simple but it's involving enough to keep the players focused on their fights, as well as its very appreciated online system. Despite the game's exaggerated use of downloadable contents, BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle is an added value to any fighting fan's collection.

6 / 10 - Atomine
Jul 10, 2018

ATOMINE does not bring any big surprise to the Nintendo Switch catalogue. It's a twin-stick shooter and a competent one at that. If its plot is somewhat original, the rest of the game is not. Thanks to its minimalist but not any less stylish visuals and variety of weapons and enemies, ATOMINE is enough to keep the players amused for some time but it doesn't take long until it starts feeling too repetitive and too demanding on the player's energy.

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 Deluxe Edition keeps the same traits that can be found on the original game: a wide variety of characters, lots of content to explore, a quality soundtrack and elements of the One Piece series. While these are all good reasons to dedicate time and energy to the game, those unfamiliar with the series are not likely to be converted in great numbers and the game does not present anything truly groundbreaking - ultimately, this is a work that preaches to the choir.

Shape of the World does not follow the rigid tenets of most games. What Shape of the World proposes is rather a relaxation of the senses thanks to a skillfully-crafted abstract and psychedelic art style which does a very good job at immersing the player into a different state of mind. Pity that it does not propose more of that, as Shape of the World feels too short and with too little interaction, for a game that gets its sensory component right.

Mario Tennis Aces is the best game in the Mario Tennis series to come out in this decade. While far from perfect, namely on the lack of gaming modes, there's plenty of new gameplay elements and multiplayer options that will leave its players very satisfied, not to mention some adventure elements that features some interesting ideas, even if they're not really deep.

Legendary Eleven arrives at the right time, just as the globe steps into the World Cup frenzy. Unfortunately the game does not manage to live up to the expectations of the moment. While there are some charming aspects about Legendary Eleven, namely at the level of its art style and at capturing the spirit of eras gone by, its control system makes the player feel completely removed from the action and the gameplay suffers immensely from this. To make it worse, the experience is significantly harmed by a series of bugs and flaws that render the game extremely difficult to enjoy.

6 / 10 - Late Shift
Jun 10, 2018

Late Shift brings back the interactive movie genre, based on the use of the Full Motion Video, to the current age with all the technical advancements that it brings in terms of visual improvements. However and while the actors' interpretations are competent and there are plenty of choices, they end up having less of an impact on the plot that it would be legitimate to expect and the game's own level of interactivity feels very narrow.

7 / 10 - I, Zombie
Jun 8, 2018

I, Zombie brings a fun challenge based on a complete reversal of the zombie apocalypse concept that has proven to be so popular in gaming. Thanks to its original approach to the theme, I, Zombie stand out compared to other zombie games, even if it's rahter short and its missions somewhat repetitive.

4 / 10 - Hollow
May 15, 2018

Hollow tries to break into the circle of horror games for the Nintendo Switch, which has been growing considerably over the months. While Hollow does a good job at presenting the right atmosphere for a horror game, it loses its potential when it comes to the actual gameplay, which feels heavy and slow and the experience suffers from several technical issues and bugs that make it more difficult to enjoy.

Football Manager Touch 2018 is a Nintendo Switch version of the long-running series that has been adapted to the system's characteristics. While it may not be the definite version of Football Manager, it comes with its set of advantages, mostly thanks to its fluid gameplay and interface that fits perfectly with the Nintendo Switch, as well as the convenience of playing Football Manager on the go. The game does have some technical issues and the lack of an online mode is a disappointment but so far, this is the best Football Manager released on a console.

Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 Plus builds on its predecessor and brings some additional new elements that could certainly be more, as it would very much benefit this edition's experience. Thanks to its addictive and frantic gameplay, Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 Plus successfully brings the Pac-Man experience to the Nintendo Switch catalog in a way that will keep the game's fans closely around their console for some long and fun hours, whether solo or multiplayer.

Fantasy Hero ~unsigned legacy~ features some interesting progression mechanisms and its characters offer some development potential but unfortunately, the action quickly gets dull and repetitive. Adding to this, the game's overall audiovisual component is clearly dated and there are several bugs and errors that make this game something difficult to recommend.

Sparkle Unleashed is a simple but competent puzzle game that is mostly based on a very tested formula, and there's nothing wrong with that. While the game does not attempt to stand above all its peers, what it features proves sufficient to provide for some simple fun. Where Sparkle Unleashed disappoints is on how quickly it begins to feel rather repetitive, especially for more experienced players with more exposure to other works.

6 / 10 - Vostok Inc.
Feb 5, 2018

Vostok Inc. has the merit of trying to merge point & click mechanics with those of a shooter game. By itself, this is something that should be commended. The problem is it doesn't really achieve anything significant with this effort and the shooter component feels shallow and uninspired. At the same time, the game ends up becoming too repetitive and doesn't have much to offer once its novelty factor dissipates.

7 / 10 - Bleed
Jan 17, 2018

Bleed is not the most ambitious game ever made but that's not really necessary when its gameplay is simple but action-packed and will grasp the players' attention immediately. Being a game that's been on the market for a few years now, Bleed's price tag seems too high but that doesn't mean that fans of action games will not be allured by its simple yet effective and fun gameplay.

Hiragana Pixel Party is a rhythm game that ends up not standing out as such but rather thanks to its educational component, centered on the teaching of japanese characters. While its rhythm-based gameplay is too simple and shallow for its own good, the educational side is surprisingly fun and the game's retro aesthetics grant it a rather alluring look.

Embers of Mirrim is a platformer of its own kind with puzzle elements and which makes a very original use of the two analog sticks that are part of the Nintendo Switch control scheme. It may have its frustrating elements but the game's benefits largely outweigh its shortcomings and is a very recommended game for fans of platform games who also enjoy a puzzle component.

8 / 10 - Pinball FX3
Jan 2, 2018

Pinball FX3 is a varied, fun and overall rewarding pinball game that makes its way to the Nintendo Switch. Featuring an immense variety of tables that encompass many known series from the worlds of games and film, Pinball FX3 further brings a vertical view that allows the players to have a full vision of the table. All these elements add up to make a very fun and addicting game on the Nintendo Switch catalog.

L.A. Noire on the Nintendo Switch looks and plays as good as the original did, featuring the same stunning actor performances and facial animations of the original, as well as its compelling plot and involving film noir atmosphere. Not all is perfect in this conversion and if the original game already featured a somewhat empty world, the Nintendo Switch version does not add anything groundbreaking to the original.

Featuring an immense amount of content, a fun and challenging driving mechanic and lots of visual appeal, this game will certainly find its place in the Nintendo Switch catalog, despite a feeling of mid-term repetitiveness and the need to return to previous tracks to obtain more credits.
