6 / 10 - Days Gone

Its ambition goes beyond the technical side —you can find a very honest type of ambition in its best moments, but there's not many of those in the game, and they are not as important as they should be.

A run and gun in which there is no shortage of tributes and nods but that does not waste the opportunity to build around that pure and crystalline subgenre that has its two main pillars in its name.

7 / 10 - The Cub
Jan 18, 2024

It is a discreet, humble game that takes another step in the direction Demagog took with Golf Club Nostalgia; another step for a very interesting studio that with The Cub continues to put before us the uncomfortable mirror of climate apathy, of the disconnection with the consequences of letting power accumulate until it is too late, of the danger of wallowing in "apocalypse porn" while we watch the world collapse around us.

7 / 10 - Mahokenshi
Feb 1, 2023

It's an uncomfortable and paradoxical feeling, in my case (I like that it's a closed game, but I'd also like it to be infinite), but I have a feeling it's also a good sign: I won't be uninstalling Slay the Spire, that's for sure, but I can imagine playing Mahokenshi until Steam's hour counter reaches three figures as soon as the context is right.

7 / 10 - Evil West
Nov 22, 2022

The new game from Flying Wild Hog, their third release this year, applies the studio's philosophy —familiar formulas + maximum intensity— to a grindhouse Western comic in which there's not a moment for respite.

Jul 21, 2022

Although its self-aware vulgarity doesn't always hit the mark, Hell Pie has enough good ideas in its level design to be a good choice for fans of the genre.
