While Outlaws has some flaws, it is a fun and accurate depiction of the Star Wars universe. Kay Vess is a great addition to the world, and I enjoyed watching her grow throughout her many adventures. As a casual fan of Star Wars, I think that this is a great entry for those that are only familiar with Jedis and light saber combat. I believe that many issues that gamers may run into can be addressed by an update but I wouldn’t let small kinks in the armor scare you away from this experience. Like many Ubisoft titles, there will be some significant story updates coming in the future so this game will be supported for a while. Jump in and give Star Wars Outlaws a try
The time I have spent with Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has been great so far. If you are a fan of Ubisoft games, many things will be familiar here. To some, This could be an annoyance, and to others, it may be one of their favorite aspects of the game. When it comes to a game based on a movie, Ubisoft did well sticking to the source material while also creating something new and unique. The shining stars of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora are the stunning graphics and the movement. It was great just exploring and discovering new parts of the continent. It is so easy to get sidetracked (in a good way) when heading on a mission. If you’re a fan of Ubisoft games and Avatar, I suggest giving this game a try. I plan to spend a ton of time exploring and discovering this world.
Lords of the Fallen is a great addition to the Soulslike family. The game feels familiar but brings some welcomed changes that I think many people will enjoy and find challenging. There are so many secrets to experience and there are a ton of different character archetypes to try out. You will encounter the occasional hiccup or quirk but it doesn’t kill the experience. If you are looking for a new challenge, this is a great game to jump into.
For $12.99, Mia and the Dragon Princess is worth the price of admission. The campy nature of the game may be off-putting to some but I do think it adds to its charm. The campaign may be short but there are 10 interesting endings that players can discover and the ability to skip the scenes that you have already experienced keeps things from feeling dull. If you are a fan of FMV games, I think that trying this game is a no-brainer. If you are still a little hesitant, there are a few bundles available on Steam to add more value to the package. Mia and the Dragon Princess was a fun escape from traditional games and I look forward to exploring more of the Wales Interactive library.
Wanted: Dead is the love child of the creators of Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive, and you will definitely see the influence as you make your way through the story. You play detective Hanna Stone, the leader of Hong Kong’s Zombie Unit. This team is comprised of a group of misfits looking for a second chance and they are trying to uncover a corporate conspiracy. The story may not win any awards but we personally had a ton of fun with Wanted: Dead.
If you are in the market for more content to experience on your VR headset, I think Dyschronia is a good choice for the price. With this being a game based around mystery and discovery, I can’t say that there is a ton of replayability. This is something that many VR games have a problem with so I wouldn’t hold that against Dyschronia here. This will be the first episode of three for this series and I look forward to whats to come. As a fan of anime and mystery, this was a great experience and I think it is worth a try. If you don’t own a VR headset or are not a fan of VR, the game will be available on the Nintendo Switch as well.
Soda Crisis was a really refreshing experience for me. I have played a lot of side-scrolling games in my lifetime and this fits right in while also providing something new. The game feels very solid and sports a fun art style. The ability to have control over your loadout throughout the game and the evolution of enemy types keeps things feeling fresh and new.
Rainbow Six Extraction is a great place for a lot of players to jump into the universe. This may not be a game for hardcore Siege players but that is okay. I believe that both of these games can live in parallel and move forward as platform games. Ubisoft is welcoming in a new group of players with this game and I am excited to see that. I had a ton of fun jumping in with a team and playing something a little different and less sweaty. It feels like it is okay to play this game and make mistakes and try again.
Bright Memory: Infinite is a fast-paced first-person shooter that gives the player a high-tech arsenal to dispatch their foes. For some, the game may be a little short but it doesn’t take away from how fun the game is. I can see a decent amount of replayability in this game. The speed, combos, and weapons will be appealing to a lot of the players. I really wonder what FYQD-Studio could have done if they had access to more resources. Bright Memory: Infinite really shows what Unreal Engine 4 can do graphically. The various weapons in your arsenal feel solid and fun to experiment with. If you are a fan of over-the-top combat and cool sci-fi environments, I would say Bright Memory: Infinite is worth a try.
Guardians of the Galaxy was a great experience that I cannot wait to play through the story again. The characters were portrayed perfectly in my opinion and the voice acting was stellar. Coming off of an Avengers game that some were a little hesitant about, Square Enix had a lot to prove with this title. This shows that future Marvel games are in really good hands. I look forward to more content for Guardians of the Galaxy and potentially a sequel in the future. If you haven’t spent much time learning about the Guardians of the Galaxy, this is a great jumping-off point. There is a lot of lore to be discovered in this game and it makes me want to go back and read some of the comics. There are so many potential characters that could be explored now. An Antman game by Square Enix could be pretty good.
Personally, there are very few things that I do not like about Far Cry 6. There is so much to do and discover in this game. If you are a fan of Far Cry games, this is another great entry. If you are new, it is easy to jump in and connect with the new characters and story.
If you enjoy games like No Man Sky, Animal Crossing, and Terreria, this is the game for you. There is an unlimited amount of worlds to explore and playing Residual is almost calming. The various dungeons are really cool to explore and the puzzles spread throughout the maps don’t take me out of the experience. There is a ton of replayability in this survival exploration game and if you want more of a challenge, feel free to turn on the permadeath option. With each planet, there are new puzzles and secrets to discover. There were a couple times during gameplay where I feel I may have locked myself out of being able to complete a planet but, it is quick and easy to jump back in to a new playthrough. Residual is a charming survival exploration game created by a person that is clearly passionate about his craft.
liens: Fireteam has a lot to offer while also cutting a few corners. I think that the 40-dollar price tag will make people a little less hesitant to jump in and try the game. It may not be the most visually striking game but it in no way looks bad. Initially, it looked like the game was going to have a lot of the same environments and enemies and that opens up a decent amount after you get out of the first missions. The game world expands and starts to incorporate lore and enemies from all of the movies. There are even some new enemy variants that have not been seen before. Aliens: Fireteam Elite is being released at the right time.
Chernobylite delivered a lot more than I originally expected. The story is great and keeps the player wanting to find out more. The gameplay adds unique elements to the normal first-person shooter and horror genres. The option to go through a game non-lethally is not a new concept but adding the insanity aspect adds layers to this already complex game. For lovers of games like Metro and S.T.A.L.K.E.R., this will be a welcomed treat. This emotional and complex trip through Chernobyl is well worth the price of entry. All the different aspects implemented into Chernobylite can lead to hours of entertainment.
You get all of the great features of the base game with brand new story content. I think this is a great way to add new content and introduce new characters into the Watch Dogs universe. Ubisoft has really done a great job with Bloodline and it’s a definite must-play for all Watch Dogs fans.
I have not always been the biggest fan of the Hitman series because I was so bad at the stealth genre. Over time, IO Interactive has done a great job opening up its world. Hitman has now become more accessible while maintaining its challenge. Like always, the game looks and feels great. The controls and different gameplay mechanics are easy to learn for those that are new to the genre. I am really glad that IO Interactive decided to go with a true story mode in Hitman 3. The episodic content was not bad but I think that the last iteration in the series deserved a true storyline. IO Interactive has really shown what their studio is capable of when it comes to graphics, level design, and story. With all of the content included in this package, this is a great place for new players to jump in. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for their 007 game.
With the addition of new game modes and a quest system, Spellbreak continues to improve on the base game. Proletariat has done a great job at creating a platform for a game. They have left a lot of space for expansion in the future. The art style is beautiful and bright. There are a ton of character skins to unlock but I wish that a single character could be customized with more detail. A lot has gone into the making of Spellbreak and the future is looking bright for this title. We can’t wait to see what comes next.
There is a lot of potential when it comes to Bounty Battle. The art is great and there are some unique gameplay mechanics. The team is continuing to improve on the game so it's worth keeping an eye on Merge Games.
If you don't normally play adventure games, Roki is not a bad place to start. It's a beautiful world with a beautiful story. There are some challenges when it comes to staying on track but that can lead to cool discoveries.
