Doomsday Vault from Flightless is a pleasant puzzle game that will keep your attention in short stints. Its simplicity will keep your interest, while its flexibility to come and go will keep the experience casual.
Last Stop is endearing with its story and characters with a Hollywood caliber narrative design. It just wants to be a movie more than it wants to be a game, but it is entertaining, nonetheless.
Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 is a good game that features a variety of good-to-decent events and a wonderful ability to play alongside friends. The inconsistency of the game's design with controls and the difficulty arc that spikes hurt the game but aren't dealbreakers.
Monster Energy Supercross - The Official Videogame 4 isn't a bad game at all, rather it's just an incredibly difficult one that leaves no room for novices to enter the dirt track arena. If you are a pro, then you're going to find a lot to love about this game. The multiple modes work well, the track creation is solid, and the customization in the game is on point.
The Suicide of Rachel Foster does its best to get you in that uncomfortable gameplay horror structure it aspires to achieve, and it succeeds in engaging and pulling you into the experience. The game just falls short in the story and never really brings the actual horror you would expect to the table, which hurts the gameplay. The long journey to start the horror and the payoff by the end doesn't match up. That's not to say you won't get something out of the game, at least some mystery and suspense, but your expectations of what you should get and what you want to get will never quite come to fruition.
Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee is a classic game that might be stuck in 2001 visually, but still is fun to play thanks to the story and characters.
Star Ocean First Departure R is a great RPG that needed a bit more love on the presentation side of things. It certainly deserved it.
The Wizards creates a nice environment to explore and provides a short adventure to draw gamers into a magical land. Unfortunately, the unpredictable VR controls frustrate gameplay and are a distraction from totally enjoying an immersive wizard experience.
Overall, Chimparty is a fun PlayLink title from NapNok that gives off a nice Mario Party vibe, while not quite reaching the level design that usually comes with a Mario Party. Chimparty is a good family game, though, and a good addition to the PlayLink family.
Evasion is a decent FPS for the PSVR, but it needed just a bit more variety to make it fun and engaging. The initial structure of the gameplay is spot-on, but the enemies and level design are just a bit too stale. Hopefully, Archiact continues to make VR titles because I think they're onto something.
Right now, the modes are decent, especially for younger gamers out there, so they add some value to the titles, but they need a bit more to them, though, to really sell everyone on them.
As it stands, you get classics, and a hopeful outlook there is more to come in the third installment of the series.
Galak-Z: Variant S is a simple shooter that is fun in short stints. The controls are fun, the level design is outstanding, but the motivating factors of the game, which include upgrades, needs to be improved a little before it becomes great. As it stands right now, it's a good space shooter with some potential for improvement in the future.
If you're looking for a solid experience that keeps going and motivates you to keep going through rewards and short missions, then you'll enjoy Defiance 2050. It's a solid title that does what is advertised. Just excuse those last generation cutscenes.
Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time features intriguing characters, a solid story, tons of dialogue and simplistic RPG mechanics. It was definitely made for a younger audience in mind, and at times seems to forget that the younger audience can take on a challenge. Much like its main character Akko, it is going to be great someday, but right now just needs a bit more balance and work.
Horizon Chase Turbo is simple fun that doesn't offer up an overbearing challenge for its racers. It contains some good rewards, which help keep the player motivated, but needs to be just a bit deeper in the physics department. All in all, though, it's a fun arcade racer.
Battlezone: Combat Commander is a Wing Commander-like experience in a tank. It features a neat story, updated graphics, and some gameplay that might not quite achieve the longevity of entertainment that it desires. It does contain some interesting features to try and keep the gamer engaged, but depending on expectations of the gamer will equal out to whether that engagement holds up.
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions is a game for fans of the 2003 title. The upgrade in controls, visuals and the addition of Bowser's Minions will certainly make this a worthy purchase. For newbies of the title, the controls are probably going to get in the way of entertainment, which is not what you want when you're trying to sell it to new/young gamers.
Windjammers is a solid game that is dumb arcade fun from the 90s. While it certainly has some arcade charm to it through its intense gameplay, it isn't meant for long periods of play, which might be a turn-off for some gamers.
Demetrios is a solid point and click title from Cowcat. It is point and click and dialogue-driven, even to a fault at some points, but the difficulty will be enough to offer up a challenge to those who love the genre. Demetrios certainly isn't perfect, much like its main character, but it is intriguing enough to warrant a go.
