It still is a great shooter, but it undoubtedly shows its age. The graphical improvements are just anecdotic.

Honestly, it's difficult to recommend Crysis Remastered. Its premise and design remain impressive to this day, but poor optimisation makes it difficult for players to enjoy the new graphical additions. If you already own a copy of Crysis, you aren't going to miss out on much here.

The 2007 shooter returns loaded with countless visual enhancements, as well as being once again relevant as a benchmark tool. Although with some rough mechanics, the fun is still there, and visiting the Lingshan Islands has never been so vibrant.

A remastered version that improves some graphics aspects of the original and preserves its gameplay, but is plagued by poor optimization and suffer bad framerates even on the most powerful hardware.

Sure, I played the original game, so I know the story and the missions. In general I was looking forward to play the story again after so many years. Today (March/2021) the game is still not stable. Enabling DLSS creates artifacts at some surfaces or objects using a RTX2070, so I played at high detail with 45fps without DLSS in 4k. The textures have a very high detail, that's
Crysis Remastered takes 3 steps forward, while also taking 3 steps back. The game adds better fidelity and fixes the extremely CPU limited AI and physics of the old game. But introduces more effects that are even more single threaded then the original game. At low settings at 3440x1440p with a 3080 8700k oc to 4.9ghz and 32gbs of ram with rt off I can't get more than 45 fps
3 / 10.0
Today it's 26 november. I downloaded another patch, this time 14GB: - HDR is still broken (this is only one game which don't work propertly with HDR on my pc), - DLSS support is still not avaliable, - performncce is very bad even without RT. Old Crysis 1 with mods looks better and runs better.
