You play as Lilly Witchgan and her various personalities. Levels are either puzzles (where you control two of Lilly’s personalities at once) or story interludes where you may also learn a new skill to be used in future puzzles. The difficulty lies in having to control two characters at once as you try to avoid the obstacles to get to the end of the level. Characters may move in different directions. For example, pushing ‘up’ on the directional joystick may move one of the characters up and the other down. Obstacles also appear in different locations for each of the characters.

Demonizing and trivializing mental disorders, using 19th century stereotypes and terms, just proves how problematic the Reflection of Mine story is. The highlight of this title, which should be solving the puzzles, ends up buried in an infinite and restrictive loop of trial and error. It may seem challenging at first, but it soon becomes frustrating.

Reflection of Mine is something for the puzzle fan looking for an intense challenge. This is an experience that requires careful thought and patience to conquer its tricky puzzles. I loved the soundtrack but I mostly walked away from this game feeling more stupid than entertained which is more on me than the game. Some will love this, some will hate it so I’ll be a pain and just say……
