A capable indie strategy title that does more with its Lovecraftian setting than most similar games of the past decade
Yes, there are difficulty spikes, especially the boss battles, that can frustrate. But the tension between preparedness and speed that the mechanics created is something that more modern tactics focused titles should try to replicate.
In Stirring Abyss the abyss will be an enemy in itself that we will have to defeat, fighting to maintain body and mind. If we are fans of the genre of turn-based strategy, and we are interested in the Lovecraftian narrative, it is a must.
