Critic Reviews for QV

QV is an enjoyable puzzler packed full of content. If you can cope with the slow paced movement, it throws enough new obstacles at you to keep things fresh from start to finish.

QV is another puzzle-shaped feather in the eShop’s cap. Its brainteasers successfully balance accessibility with sophistication. Its vibrant art style and subdued soundtrack evoke pensiveness. However, it’s the small cast of characters and playful comedy that truly solidify it as exceptional. I wish the developers doubled down on these low-key moments since they breathe new life and context into the underlying puzzle game. Even so, QV is an adventure I won’t soon forget.

Cubed3

Filled with humour and mystery QV is a fine puzzle addition to Nintendo Switch. Quby's inquisitive nature coupled with her determination to make friends no matter how spikey the personality is makes playing as her a joy. This is accessible for all players no matter their puzzle ability, and there are hours to be spent figuring out how to get Quby to each gate, avoiding environmental traps, as well as enemies who will chase her. This isn't over once the story is completed. There are seventy nine achievements to unlock for completionists, an extra difficult level, and it is easy to want to re-experience levels simply for the fun of being with the charming Quby again. Apart from occasional levels that seemed set at the wrong difficulty for both the difficulty setting and the point in the game, QV is a must-play for all puzzle enthusiasts.

It may be simple and laidback but there's no denying just how magical QV is with its satisfying puzzles and adorable game world.

QV is one of those games that ticks all the right boxes for its particular niche. As an isometric puzzle platformer, there’s little else like it at the moment, and so it manages to have an audience even among so many video game releases. It’s a comfortable and well-designed puzzle romp complemented by some genuinely catchy tunes.

What’s refreshing is the fact that in QV, there are minor usages of recycling of the same puzzle mechanics as you advance the stages, thus all the stage encounters feel unique and challenging. Multiple difficulty levels and unique achievements to unlock brings in replay value to the fullest. Style and artwork delivers the crisp and cool vibe from the main menu screen to the ending. This value for money puzzle game has more than enough value in this fully diverse package of contents.
