Critic Reviews for Sunlight
While many of us find ourselves in a lost place right now, Sunlight aims to connect your mind to a more peaceful existence in this calming walking simulator.
Sunlight is an aesthetically beautiful game which does not take full advantage of its beautiful environment. The stunning visuals and audio make the short playtime and lack of true exploration elements somewhat disappointing.
Do you enjoy a quiet walk in the woods with only the companion of existential dread to keep you company? Have you ever actively thought about the presence of the skeleton inside your body? Do you like flowers? Then Sunlight is for you.
The art style, music and voice acting are the real heroes here because the story and specially the monologues that are used to convey the story doesn't do much to awaken the sort of feelings that are necessary for this kind of game to make an impact and the gameplay is the most basic kind of walking sim you could expect.

It was a bit hard for me to score Sunlight. While I love the audiovisual quality, I think that this beautiful world could be used for so much more.

I don't even feel comfortable talking about Sunlight. It's such an intimate and personal experience that the ideal scenario is to live it at your own pace — to get immersed in this transcendental story with no idea of how it's going to turn out and psychologically prepared to revisit your own past in a journey with a bittersweet destination.

A magical, meditative experience that blends a surrealist painterly art style with majestic choral music and an imaginative narrative delivery, Sunlight is quite a special game. It won’t be for everyone but if you’re looking for a 30 minute diversion from the trials and tribulations of modern day life, Sunlight is a fantastic diversion.
