Critic Reviews for Onirike

‎Dreams are within everyone's reach, but not everyone achieves their dreams. Aiming to reach the Well of Realities, Onirike is a work that proposes us to start a path that leads us towards the achievement of a dream, a path relative to a decisive experience and full of personal trials where only the most obstinate and true to themselves can manage to complete the journey. And it is precisely in this journey where it becomes clear whether ‎‎the spirit of the dreamer is worthy of his dream before a new dawn,‎‎or, on the contrary, he is only a dreamer whose spirit does not yet have the necessary maturity to make it possible for a dream to materialize in the world of the tangible.‎

‎Onirike is an attractive game, cute and with a lot of potential for the story and the values it delivers. It has several details that make it very entertaining, but unfortunately due to its poor optimization, it tarnishes the gaming experience.‎

Onirike focuses all its charm on the built world, a world full of imagination and dreamlike moments that transmits the sensation of reading a storybook. Its mix of platforms and puzzles is quite consistent, but some problems in the handling of Prieto, as well as certain design decisions and bugs tarnish the final result a bit.

In a previous job I had when I was younger one of the managers used to say I was weird as a description of my character. For a long time, I interpreted being called weird as a negative. As I grew older I did realise that we have that choice to interpret this ourselves as a positive or a negative. Onirike is a weird game and for some, it won’t gel. The platforming is a bit awkward. The story is confusing and the invisibility and dash features feel more of a chore than enjoyable features. But despite my niggles I choose to see Onrike as the positive weird and for those gamers that give it a chance, I hope you do too.
