Critic Reviews for Lamentum

Lamentum is like a salad, it is a fantastic idea with delicious bits in it like the combat and general sense of exploration. While not without issues, the game is still fun.

Lamentum embodies all the elements of a good survival horror experience: helplessness, isolation, tension, uncertainty, and fear. Lamentum is a magnificent homage to the classic survival horror of the 90s and a love letter to Lovecraftian gothic horror. Despite its somewhat clunky combat system, Obscure Tales' title will delight fans of the genre.

Lamentum’s story and puzzle-solving challenges do feel too much like a rehash of those very same games that inspired it. In some ways, being an almost 1-1 repetition.
