Critic Reviews for Snow Bros. Nick & Tom Special
Look, there's no way to sugarcoat it - Snow Bros. wasn't worth bringing back. It's pretty much a D-grade arcade game with no interesting hook, and no amount of gussying it up can disguise that. The Monster Challenge mode sounds interesting, but it's DLC. All that was really needed was 'Arcade Archives: Snow Bros,' so that fans could get what they want at a decent price, the game was preserved on a modern console, and we could all just move on with our lives. It's gonna be a snow from us.
The arcade original is a little known gem but while this remake is a competent effort it's too expensive, and has too few new features, to recommend to non-fans.
An Exercise in apathy, neither solid nor liquid. Not exactly bad, but not very good either. Just a bit 'meh,' really.
Snow Bros. Special is a faithful remake of the arcade classic that's sure to bring back memories for those who played it back in the day. The disappointing part is that the original really isn't all that good which pains me to say because I remember it fondly.
Snow Bros. Nick & Tom Special is the remake of Toaplan's Arcade classic. We relive the adventure of the brothers Nick & Tom in a good update with 30 new levels and new game modes, which however has created a controversy by turning the new Monster Challenge game mode -a priori the most interesting novelty - in a paid DLC for the digital version of the title. Therefore, if you are interested in the game, go for the physical edition.
