Critic Reviews for Krut: The Mythic Wings
Krut: The Mythic Wings uses an animated Thai film to create a 2D adventure.
As a game full of predictable combat and only six stages, there's not a lot to Krut: The Mythic Wings. Depending on the difficulty setting, beating the game will likely only take an hour or two. The story is interesting, but it takes up more of the content than the actual gameplay. The flaws are only somewhat made up for by the unique and visually appealing environments for each stage. Overall, Krut: The Mythic Wings offers some casual fun, but it's very short and lacks combat variety.
Krut: The Mythic Wings is a very pretty but brutally difficult action platformer based on Thai mythology. The game can be completed in under 10 hours, but the bulk of that time will be spent tediously grinding for better gear to advance past even the common enemies. For the hard-core gamers only.
Krut: The Mythic Wings isn’t a terrible game – there’s nothing outright awful about it – but it’s sub-par in every single way. So, unless you’ve seen the animated film that it’s based on and really want to immerse yourself in its world a little more, it’s best to give it a wide berth. Though even then, we can’t imagine anyone genuinely having fun with it.
Krut: The Mythic Wings is a competent game that never manages to become more than the sum of its parts. The gameplay loop is decent but fails to develop in any interesting way. The narrative is solid enough to push players forward but never impresses. The game does look good, especially during boss engagements.
Krut: The Mythic Wings is an alright game but fails to do anything new and feels incredibly repetitive after a while.
Krut: The Mythic Wings could have been a really fun no thrill hack and slash platformer if it just tidied up some of its gameplay designs. It kinda feels like it’s just stuck in the past and not in a good way. This is a game that might have worked if it was released in the 90s on the Mega Drive. With combat that feels more of a slog than satisfying. Horribly cheap enemies and a maddening upgrade system make for an unpleasant formula that is hard to recommend even at the low price point on offer. The game has an excellent graphical style but this is one title based on mythology that I would rather read about than play.
Krut: The Mythic Wings presents a strong example of lazy level design, poor gameplay and questionable quality. It is difficult to point out positive things amid so much that shows that this is a low quality product.
